For the Rollins fans out there, pay attention!

Post by Waz »

Rollins tour in January. I think I just might be going to the Salford Lowry Centre to see him (understatement):

Note to Makke and Larsec, two dates in Copenhagen (Amager Bio) and Stockholm (Rival). I've already alerted Don Kwed to the Copenhagen date for obvious reasons (cue Kwed: "w00t! Best news ever!")

"Remember, when you're at full metal challenge, I AM THE LAW! And the law says that your vehicle is going in to my furnace to BURN! And I am going to LAUGH!" :)

Be some weekend for me, as I'm going to Birmingham the night before to see the mighty PWEI reformation gig...

Yeah, I was just talking it over with the Don. If I'm going I'm defenitely heading for Copenhagen, as it would give me an excuse to have a drink with Kwed and Larsec. Unfortunately it's at the same time as our exam period, so I don't know if I can go.

I know I have an exam on the 15'th, so I'm clear of that one, but I'm taking two more courses which I don't have the info on yet. And of course, there's the ever so fun money problem as always.

I bet the tickets are sold out by the time I find out if I can or cannot go.

Here's hoping. :|

Would be nothing short of FUCKING EXCELLENT to see the man live.

Trust me, you simply have to go, if you can. I've seen him live twice at Manchester Academy and each time was superb, around two and a half hours worth of material, all fresh and new each time, and on top of that, some really intelligent insights into America et al and how corrupt the whole place is etc etc.

I'm just relieved I'm on priority mailings for the Lowry Centre - should help me get a good seat for that one. Maybe even front row, although I'm not so sure that's a good idea ;)

Yeah, I know. And it would make up nicely for missing Eddie Izzard when he was in Sweden a few weeks back.

Bought my ticket earlier today - now mounted on the wall next to my desk. Just looking at it makes me go all giggly with delight.

Buy the ticket now. If you can't go when the time comes pass it on to someone else. Sure, you'll loose the 200 DKK entrance fee - but rather that than find out that you do have the time for it when it'll be sold out.

At least that's my reasoning for getting a ticket now even though I have no idea what my schedule looks like after December 1st.
Would be nothing short of FUCKING EXCELLENT to see the man live.
Damn right!

Common Rollins-misconception #1. Henry Rollins' music doesn't actually have much in common with his spoken word performances.

Indeed, you're right there Jan!

In fact, his spoken word performances are much more intense. Yes, they are mostly funny with a bit of seriousness thrown in. Yes, the man has you transfixed for two and a half hours. Yes, he really gets stuck into the subject matter. No, it's different from his music in a different kind of intense way.

This isn't looking too good... I might be able to scrape enough cash together for the trip and ticket... But if all goes as planned I start school the day before the performance... But I want to go... I'll see if I can't make it happen...
