Question for Admins

Do you guys ever get hit by Data Harvesters ? Cos my server does.... last night it started at 2.23am and went on at a steady 20 hits a minute till around 9am.... Needless to say they didnt get anything cos its all encrypted, and running an account making proggie is useless cos i activate all accounts manually..... But this is FRICKIN Frustrating !!! It stops users accessing the boards and eventually, when its finished, nobody has access, requiring a router reset (manually).

The error log was HUGE but at least i got the offenders IP data and added it to the NAT firewall..... just frikkin annoying is all, wondered if you guys had a way to stop it happening other than hiding all the boards and making it completely private.

I've had huge problems with Comment Spammers on my some of my Sites, one time they left 100 comments in under a minute, the worst thing was I had my site set to send me an SMS everytime I got a comment.
