In opposite to ultra-high definition audio
this seems to make sense on big screens.
But we'll have to wait for this approximatly 20 years.
(Actually the porn industry has to use this format, then it
won't take long until it enters consumer market....)

The realism comes from the higher-resolution, not just from the large size of the screen. I wouldn't mind a monitor with that resolution. I've been craving it for years.
You know, I found that link on a hi-fi page.

I know that. But I won't take a 15" screen to demonstrate the difference between HDTV and UHDV - how should that make sense?!
I watched some HDTV 720p video on my beamer and I must say the difference to standard DVD/PAL resolution is easily noticeable and looks great but it doesn't blow mind. And that's concerning a picture of about 2x3 meters in dimension!

Well if you could afford it, you've been able to buy "holographic" monitors for a while. I'd rather have an ultra high-resolution 2-d monitor than a mid-resolution 3-d monitor though; and no, not one with a giant projection area.
