Must have been storing this one up for a while...

Just had a lengthy rant posted on the excellent World Of Stuart forum about a forum thread currently in progress on the Playaholics games site.

The World Of Stuart forum is here with the Playaholics forum thread following closely behind here.

Probably best I stick in a disclaimer here absolving me of all blame for any depression caused by this posting.

Well, after all that, it's kinda academic now as I've calmed down a bit since this morning...

One of those situations where it took a lot to get me angry. Particularly concerning exploitation. Gave me something more interesting to type than stuff from work anyway. :)

Three years ago I had no idea who Stewart Campbell was.

He seems to live by getting ... confrontational with people. It's a shame, because he does have quite a powerful intellect in there.

I've had some right barneys with him on the wires... it's just not worth it, though. Just don't get het up, mate, is the only advice I can give you.

It's good advice too. Should have just let it go over my head. Bigger fish to fry in the world etc etc.

I agree with your point about Stu and his intellect. In fact, it's probably too powerful an intellect he has. I'm not so sure he goes looking for confrontation from day to day, rather that he doesn't back off/hold back from confronting people who are, in his view, committing some form of social injustice. He sees himself as a kind of social injustice fighter or protector for those who won't/can't speak up about it.

I did feel he was morally right with the way he dealt with the plagiarism of Sensible Trainspotting which was completely out of order by the company involved but there was an easier, non-confrontational and official way of dealing with that. Maybe there was past disillusionment with the system and its ability to decide in his favour that made him take the extreme cause of action that he eventually did.
