Commodore Remix

Ok, now that i caught your attention ....

R64 sponsorized 2 compos so far. For each, the winner(s) took CDs as prizes.
Those where "thematic" compos: remix X sids in one, or remix a sid in orchestral or '80s style.

Now, what about some "no prizes" compos, to be held, let's say, each 3 months?

The idea is: let's remix a single SID, free style. It could be interesting to see how each remixer reinvent the SID following his ideas and style.

What do you think?

Even if i probably couldn't take part always, but i would try the best ...

Great idea! Not sure that I'll always be there, but as long as there are room for "less serious" and "fun" mixes, I'm in! This orchestral compo was just too much for me. Too serious. I made an attempt, but it wasn't finished in time for the deadline. (btw... it's finished now, you'll get to hear it someday, someway, I promise!)

A good idea indeed! Of course, I probably wouldn't be able to compete everytime, but I'd sure try to get something done if only for a laugh.

I'm too one of the ones that doesn't know if will partecipate to all the compos: surely, i'll go for some (actually, for different reasons, i did nothing for the previous 2).

But, it could become a good "tradition", and be worth if many remixers will take part

I really like this idea. How about a poll to see which tune would be the one chosen for the compo ? I know there'd be a lot of different tunes in th epot so how about limiting it to 5 or 6 and then pick from there.


The idea of a lot of people taking one tune and interpreting it each way they feel is class.

I havent done anything for about two years now, if I do anything it won't be untill I can get skills upto something at least a little bit decent.

Excellent idea, DHS. That way I could take part in the compo, too... FINALLY!

Excellent idea, but perhaps a prize is in order... something simple and intangible, such as a custom title on the boards or the like.
