RKO mentioned on gamespy.com

Always nice to get the word spread around, although I don't agree with the writer claim that "a fair number of songs don't even mention what games they're from."

On the other hand, the author admits to never having owned a C64, so I blame the comment on him not being able to spot the fact that the SIDs are named after their game counterparts, and the mixes are named after the SIDs. :D

Thanks to Klas Benjaminsson for sending me the link.

That's possibly the worst bit of research I've ever seen - every tune on RKO is named after the SID tune that it's a remix of ... ! Plus the search facility makes it dead easy to find all the remixes of your fave game choons.

Yes, compared to places like VGMix.com, RKO has a far superior naming and display system.

Next to every remix there's even a direct link to the original SID.

"Finally, a veritable ton of people emailed about Machinae Supremacy, another Swedish band that's actually scored a few games. It turns out I played one before, Jets 'n Guns. It wasn't my style, but the music was good. Why not cut out the middleman?"

The middleman? is that refering to me?

Heh, now you know how I feel when I get randomly or thoughtlessly dissed by know-nothing journalists who are more interested in being clever than interesting. Well, OK, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen. You just want to bash their head against a wall...

Since the author mentions Machinae Supremacy, I suppose he is referring to the Sidology medleys they made. They are the only instance where there's no clear reference to the games they are from. I guess he just jumped to a premature conclusion. Agreed though, bad research indeed.
