Hey all, i'm back but not happy ;(
I got home today and tonight i started my computer and one of the worst thing happed, my motherboard got crappety crap crap shitfaced, started to smell bured chipset. So now i have to buy a new motherboard and can't make any music until then
I hope my HD is ok, i can't test it cause i only have win98se on my older computer (Typeing on that now)

Anyway: Pex, I tryed the large water-slide and the last big jump was not so fun the first time, i had a pretty fast speed and smashed my chest hard... Got sore for a few days
I did't try the big air bouncing stuff but my kid loved it, when older kids bounced on it my kid was bouncing like a freaki'n finger-vante, it looked really funny (he didn't think so)
The weather wasn't that great, windy and alittle cold but it was fun anyway

So now on tuesday or wednesday i'm driveing up to Storsjöyran to have a good time with my friends

Now i am REALLY tired, i have now tryed my dvd burner in my pII and no respons what so ever from it, now power or anything else. I have tryed other power cables and stuff but nothing. Have my dvd burner got a shit load of shit and stopped working because of my burned motherboard? or can't a pII handle 120gb hd's and dvd burners?

I am about to sell everything from that computer working or not working :Þ

The worst thing about my dvd burner is that it's not so long ago i bought it and now i can't find my garaty papers and stuff ;/ ARSE!!!!!

I've worked in the I.T / I.S Industry for 10 years before moving to Robotics but i can tell you I've seen many systems gone up in smoke but the hard drives typically survive it.

Typically when a MotherBoard goes, its because of the Power Supply. So here is the chain of events.

Power Supply goes bad, takes the motherboard with it and in turn the Memory and Processor bite the dust as well.

CD/DVD-ROM's and Hard Drives are usually the only components that survive this.

If the power regulators by your CPU (those little black square looking things) are intact its possible that your CPU is still good. But if they look burnt and your Capacitors are Bulging at the top where the scoring is, than its a good chance the CPU is gone too.

Depending on your Pentium II System it may detect 120gb HD but it will run the drive at a slower Speed like ATA33 or ATA66. But on Average Pentium II drives dont recognize drivers larger than 60 or 80 GB.

I dont know what your budget is like and what the prices are in Europe, you are probably better off buying a new CPU / Ram / Motherboard.

Here in Canada we can get a Pentium 4 system fully loaded for $400-$600
which is around 266-399 Euros.

You should be able to put the hard drive in the new system bootup and have the Operating system recognize the new hardware.

At the bottom right is where a burnt ship is, a little black thing.

This is not MY motherboard though :)

I don't know if my processor has made it or not.

Now i only have to wait for money so i can drive to my sis and test my hd and dvd burner, if they are messed up i don't know what to do ;/

Mine doesn't sound at all, only get warm on the sircuit board on the harddrive...

Looking for a swedish recovery company, anyone knows what it may cost to fix? :? i guess i have to become a milionare first ;)

Had to replace my trusty DVD burner because of a failed firmware upgrade. Just stopped in the middle of the process, afterwards the PC wouldn't even start BIOS when the drive was attached. Firmware flashing is not a new process, can't see why they don't manage to make it failsafe or include emergency fallback routines so you can at least retry the flashing.
