did you know that the new competition pro uses nearly the same microswitches like the 20 year old orginal joystick....!!
i discovered this 'cause one microswitch of the new one brake apart and
i simpley replaced the new microswitches with some old ones....
and the 20 years old micrswitches works much better then the new ones.
funny, eh....

Could you let us know what you've tried them with. Any that you've found problems with, and what works really well ?
Cheers

Personally, I've tried it with
WinVICE
CCS
Spectaculator
SPIN
Gens
MAME
WolfMAME
NeoRageX
ProjectTempest
FinalBurn
Handy
WinUAE
WindowsXP recognised it straight away, and then it appears in the options for each emulator. MAME I have it set to the default controller for all games, and since it has four buttons it works with most. It's also really easy to switch buttons around using the TAB menu.
WinVICE is nice with the Comp Pro, because you can use any button as fire and adjust the autofire rate.

So would I. Except noone has volunteered to bring one to CRC for me, and somehow I don't feel like paying 8 quid in postage to have a ten quid product mailed over. =/

I still have the one I bought for you here, only I found out that one of the buttons doesn't work, and I never got contacted about a replacement

I've just gotten mine, and it's superb. However, I can't figure out how to configure the buttons in MAME. How do I access the TAB menu ? And can I change the fire buttons to a more comfortable position ?
Thanks a million

Eh-up - I've sorted it.
And I have to say it really makes a big difference. Well worth £12 (for the silver and blue one)

Best news all day.
A tad expensive at 199 DKK though. Then again they're pretty near the city center so the higher price makes up for not having to wait around for the postal service to do their thing.
In retrospect it makes pretty good sense that these people would be carrying it. As far as I recall they were the last Danish store to stock C= gear.

Thanks again for that link, Andrew. I popped by the place this afternoon and bought one without so much as even looking at it. Interestingly enough the guy at the shop said that they occationally get customers asking them to retrofit it with a 9-pin DIN connector for use in real C64s and Amigas.
Anyway, got home. Plugged it in. Started up VICE and checked the joystick options. As it shows up on the controls drop down list it's just a matter of selecting it and .... that's it. Instant retro rush. Especially with VICE running in full screen.
Now excuse me while I waste a week of my life playing Citadel. Just like back in the day.

Running an emu with one of these makes a LOT of difference regarding the retro rush. Even more so with two of em and two player games. (Wizard of Wor gooooood, right Ronin? )
