Talk freely about the scene, the world of remixing, or anything off-topic unsuitable for the "Fun Forum".

... I guess this wouldn't stirr up so much trench warfare about Desktop Firewalls here.

I don't want to discuss the sense or nonsense of desktop firewalls.
I don't want to discuss why windows is crap or not, nor another OS.
And I'm can't be arsed to code my own net code.
I'm not talking about trojans or sophisticated "fire holes".
I already turned the internet upside down for solutions. To no avail.
Simply switching off services on the target machine isn't an answer.

All I want is a program that stops another program from connecting with the internet like ZoneAlarm does. Like in ZA, I want to define a set of rules or let the control program ask for allowing/denying connection rights.

Simply blocking ports or specific applications is not the answer.
I want as "complete" outbound net control as possible without crippling the system.
(No Etheral or similar. This should be a solution for regular users.)

I know that this kind of "control" is likely to be vulnerable to root kits on XP and additional winsock installments on other version of windows.

Thanks for taking notice.
All is lost.
