It's the year 2006, but if you still haven't found help to get your brand new Commodore 64 to work, download the Commodore 64 introductory tape I've put up for you. It contains hints and tips on how to get started. It was produced in 1990 by Domark Ltd. for Commodore UK Ltd, written by John Minson and narrated by Jonathan Kidd. Warning: It's very English! ;)

Go to http://www.c64hq.com to get it!

This is MINT!

It really is very english and I can only appologise that Domark decided to hire somebody from the 50' - I bet he even had a pipe in his mouth while recording!

They should have hired somebody like Tonka - "CHAMPION BONNY LAD!"

I must admit the Side-B is odd... just a brief mention at the end of Side-A about the Amiga being great. I wonder if anybody knows what MODs they are?

I'm wondering about the Amiga track too (it's very weird) and I wonder if those SIDs are from games or just something Domark threw together for this tape.

Glad you liked it guys!

Hehe, well, I have in front of me a tape in the same vein...

"Commodore Computer Rap", from 1985, (c) Computer Music Sales Limited...

"Demo recording by Rick Cardinali"

"This recording was made by using the Commodore Sound Studio and the Commodore Sound Sampler programmes"

More as it happens ;-)

Official commodore tape.

Gimme, gimme, gimme! :)

And by the way, it's a 6510 processor in the C64 (he says 6502 on the tape). Shouldn't that have been corrected before the tape was mastered and sent out with the C64? ;)

Hilarious!!!

Kinda odd that you've just brought a C64c and then this tape tries to sell you a AMIGA.

Not really: it's called "upselling" :)

I was talking with LMan about this other tape, and we might see if we can use it to kickstart the file download section of Remix64, which is so far underutilised, and could be a nice little resource.

:D YAY ! Rummaging through some Amigamods converted to MP3 i recently downloaded, I've finally found out what the Amiga tune on the B-side is !
It's from the game "Shufflepuck Cafe" !

Here's the mod ( CUST format, use Deliplayer ) (ffrenzy dot com - Admin edit: website changed owner, link removed per request)/dmdocuments/shufflepuck_cafe.cust
and for those who want an MP3 :(ffrenzy dot com - Admin edit: website changed owner, link removed per request)/dmdocuments/shufflepuck_cafe.mp3

[edit]
The composer is someone called Lauren Elliott
