Effects

Post by xo »

Some months ago, I experimented with C++ and in particular D, in combination with OpenGL. The outcome are some small 3D effects programs. I uploaded them here.

Nice ones! My vote is *outstanding* How much time did you spend on these?

Have you thought about also putting the source code on your webpage? That would be some interesting reading (for me, at least!) :D

Wow, not bad! I really like those particle effects :)

A few years ago i messed around with OpenGL too, but there did not come much out of it except for a uncompleted carrier command clone...

@*, Thanks. :)
@Kufi, looks nice, my stuff is still just simply lit untextured surfaces, while I was working towards that too. Those particle effects are not regular particles as you see in most demos, and some of them are "stress tests" so they'll go slow on almost any machine.
@Mahoney, well I made them over a couple of months while trying to learn the languages and making a framework for a demo, which I never finished. So I thought why not put them on the page instead. The source was (and is, but I've not been working on it for months) very much work in progresss, but I'll see about posting some of the examples. :) Most of my interests were in parametric surfaces because it's an easy way to generate surfaces. It would've been cool with shaders on them.

edit: I'll give link via pm on request, I'm not comfortable making it generally available in its current state. :)

The code of the examples would be good reading for me too !

In the future I might want to do something with OpenGL..

Thanks in advance !

Exo - those effects are nice - I do love the neon green it is so effective.

And the pattern distortions are wonderful. 8)
