Commodore Remix

I'm a bit confused here, hopefully someone can clearify for me.

I downloaded "SiLeX - Symphony (Symphonic)" from remix.kwed.org and as I was listening to it, I thought to myself...hmmm very nice mix and it does sound very familiar, as a matter of fact it sounds like a track from one of my ultimate favourite SNES Game series Donkey Kong Country.

The original Track is called "Bambles Levels" from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Quest you can download a midi file from the link below.

I'm a wrong here? or was a C64 Tune of this?

According to SIDFind, DaFunk's Symphony.sid was released in 2003.

HVSC @ VARIOUS/A-F/DaFunk/Symphony.sid

DKC2 was release in 1995.

They do sound similar, IMO, but not the same. At least to me.

Something is mixed up here. I went to VARIOUS/A-F/DaFunk/Symphony.sid and gave a listen and the SID does not sound anything like the remix. Melodies and Basslines are completly different. Actually the Bassline in Symphony.sid is a cover of a popular Dance hit which I cant remember at this time.

Ok I found an Audio recording from the actual SNES.
