I'm looking for someone to help me build a script that will read a user-specified URL, extract an MMS:// link (and the filename part of the link) from it, and do various things with it using mplayer and ffmpeg. Should be a half-hour job at most, but unfortunately I haven't scripted anything in ages, so I've forgotten all I knew about it.

No, I can't just use NetTransport and dBpowerAMP on my Windows box. This baby has to run on unix and OS X.
