a wip.. early early version of something :D

ok id consider this a v0.0 just knocked up this idea very quickly.

what it might be -

a nuskool electro bass driven kind of thing that i do on a regular basis.
it may have a whole crap load of spoken stuff on it (commonly known as rap)
very likely to have lots of breakbeats in it..

what it wont be -

well produced.
soft.
flimbo's quest.
any of the 3 above.

so suggestions.. etc, thanks in advance to anyone brave enough to wrap their ears around this.

Hah! Me first to download, comment and make a complete idiot out of myself!

Synth bass line and the intro lead don't come together for me, because the synth bass line is a tad bit loud. IMO good idea would be to vary the synth bass line here and there over time ( I know there IS variation; simply not enough?). At that volume it gets boring fast. Percussion is able to relativate that problem but it starts late. Hihat ticks or something could start after a few secs or so. To give it more flesh after 50 secs, you could let the intro lead reoccur in bassy snippets. And of course some rap rants, too... ;)

 Here I am, no plan of remixing and music in general, giving my favorite noise maker some flak...

Would love to hear more, m8! :D

P.S.: I do know it's pre-alpha. Sue me. ;)

ok were at v1 stage now then.. and its shorter than v0.

changes so far.

the mainline has been replaced with a incredibly shit harp sound because at the second what i want simply doesnt work there and when i can be arsed ill go back and renote the whole thing so that what i DO want sounds correct.. so im aware it doesnt sound correct.. its meant to be that way atm heh.

the drumbeat etc comes in alot quicker and has a little more variation (im thinking of upping the bpm to 360 so i can really mess around with stattaco effects and octamed style flanging), theres a 2nd more definite junkie xl style drumbeat in there now too.

not sure if im happy with that snare yet, the freump noise at the end of it might get a bit messy, we shall see in time.

added a stringline (that also comes in midway through the intro and sounds a little off, again i will sort that out (its a 7th brass type thing.. it will most likely be changed for a more suitable hipass affair)

cheers for the comments vosla as i hope you can hear, ive taken them onboard and had a good fiddle with it :).

here is the revised newer version.

Some initial thoughts.

- The note played with the BuzzSaw instrument sounds out of tune.
- I like the beat.
- I like the Harp sound in Wip v1
- The rrrrrock samples sounds fine that ......yeahhh...sample that sounds like a baby crying dont like it.

:)

the yeahhh has been executed.. this is the structure of the track im happy with the beginning, and the way its layed out, there doesnt seem to be any "off" notes anymore.

sorted out the notes in the diddle section (yay technical term) and found an instrument i really like .. hopefully everyone else will warm to it too.

the next time you hear this it'll be alot larger and with extra gubbins attached, cheers for the comments and help analog and vosla much appreciated :).

heres the next morph of it anyway just to give you an idea

(apologies for the rapidshare crap)

v2 .. things are structured theres the middle in there.. theres a breakdown section which is one single bassnote for 16bars.. this wont be there, i just cant think of a way of doing something "exciting" to drop into the main bassline section.. but eventually there will be.

the length will be .. lengthier on a few sections (like the build up drum section before the 16bar bass fuck), still lots of work to do, reckon another week or so and it'll be done.

more comments / suggestions happily recieved :)

I'm quite curious how your final version will rock my ears...
Had finally a listen to v2 and it's... WOW!
:D

Very different approach, minimalistic. Something broody like a cross between 'Matrix 'and 'System Shock 2'.
