I had to do jury-duty earlier this year - a bit nerve-wracking having to go to court (I think those places are DESIGNED to crap you up!)

I got a bit lucky though - I was shortlisted for a BIG case which would have lasted two months (!!) but only made it to the reserves - which in the end they didn't need so I was no longer required! My entire stint of jury duty only lasted for about 3 days in the end. :)

The hours are good though - you will find yourself having some very short days on full pay! Oh, and there's a LOT of sitting around doing bugger-all. I should take a small book that you can bung in a pocket.

Hope you get a nice easy case dude!

Been fortunate enough to have avoided it but a friend of mine vanished for about 2 weeks a few years ago due to it!

There's no jury system in Sweden either.

well my first week was horrible.
i only had one case and it was (as even the judge admitted) a hard case to do.

a woman accused her dad of sexualy assaulting her when she was ten years old.
we (the jury) diddnt think the case had been put together very well and due to insufficient/unclear evidence, we had to return a "not guilty" verdict.

not a nice feeling.

I can understand that. But even so, it's not really your (the jury's) fault. If her lawyer can't put forth a solid case, he/she should advice against going to trial.

Still, I wouldn't want to take your place on this. :|
