And the Starship Troopers soundtrack.
Seemed to be friends with Paul Verhoeven I guess.

To anyone intereseted in picking his scores up, which to me are an invaluable part of my work, learn from the best, which he most certainly was one of them. Aside from the films already mentioned, add to that list scores such as Conan The Barbarian/Destroyer, Farewell To The King, The Hunt For Red October, Flesh And Blood and countless credits for Tv. Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Michael Kamen and now Basil Poledouris in the space of 2 and a half years........

I just got a hold of the soundtrack for Starship Troopers a few days ago (soundtrack collector). Excellent soundtrack and I'm on my way to getting more of his music.
Sad to hear this. Another great movie composer, Jerry Goldsmith, just passed away recently as well.

He also wrote the Conan soundtracks which Richard Joseph ripped of for Barbarian... I also used them as the influence for my Warhammer soundtracks (along with John Carpenter).
Shame - one of the best.

It was some years after choosing to use Basil Poledouris' music for the Robocop 2 title that I heard the soundtrack to Big Wednesday, and it made me realise how great he could be.
