I can't call myself a fan of his, but he did have, and still has, a great influence on popular music.
And he was always entertaining when being stoned out of his mind during interviews.

Damn! And to think that I passed on the opportunity when he played a local venue earlier this year.

I have a CD here somewhere with like 10 different remixes of it.
He did live a Full Life.

That's what the general conversation forum is, basically.
So well, rest in peace JB, but make it funky!

I picked a mate up from his parents place xmas day so he could go to work boxing day. In the car on the way back he asked me if I'd heard the news about James Brown.
My answer was "Is he dead?"
When he said yes I was shocked because I was thinking of the LA Style track from 1991.
RIP

I think
General (generic on-topic)
Broadcast (retro platform agnostic on-topic)
Off-topic (fun or not)
is better aligned, but I don't really care that much...

yeah its a real shame, ive been a fan of james since i was a little boy and as i begun to understand music more and got to understand his influence on just about everything we hear today, my admiration for that man just never stopped growing and despite his death it never will stop
forever the legend, like beethoven and others of that echelon before him, god bless his soul.
james brown is indeed dead <orchestra>
