Adobe Premier Questions for the Video Wizards.

I have started preliminary work on my Retro Music video.
I test rendered two scenes at their early stages and wanted to show you guys a preview.
Both Scenes were reneded into .AVI format and imported into Adobe Premier Pro v1.5
The problem that I"m having is, within Adobe Premier Source Window I can watch each clip without any problems. However once I drop the clips into "Video 1" and do a render to see a preview. The Preview window looks blank.
So I re-rendere each Avi. One as Uncompressed video and the other as compressed WMV 9. Still the same problem.
As a test I also rendered into MPEG 1 video and imported and this time it was even worse, stuttered video etc.. I even imported the ROBOT DEMO Video (you know which one ) and same thing.
What am I doing wrong? Should I un-install and go back to 5.5 or 6.5?
