Pimping my C64 - Nord 64 WIP!

Just pimped my C64 for Prophet 64 use.
Now has a SID2SID installed (not built by me BTW, I'm a complete 'solder wimp') giving me
6 CHANNELS of gorgeous SID, a proper 1/4 inch jack audio output (which I actually DID solder in myself - yay me!), Alpha's noise reduction mod to kill off that nasty old SID buzz, put in a Commodore 16 keyboard and added a green LED so as not to clash with the luuuurvly new red exterior!
Umm... Here it is then...
Still got another coat of red to go on at some point and I will probably add the official white 'Tonka' logo somewhere (just in case it gets lost)!
BTW - if anyone has a spare number '1' key from a Commodore 16, I would love to have it 'cos mine went for a walk (probably up the hoover)!

Absolutely gorgeous!
The 1 key...doesn't look this bad - what about building that keyboard completely from 2 slightly different colorored keyboards?!

Good idea. Some peeps on the P64 board have used black keys for where the minor scale is on the input keyboard. Ahh, actually that still wouldn't get rid of my white key problem, thinking about it. Grrr!
Hmm - wonder what a 'chequered' effect would look like, with the white and grey?...
*Goes off to dismantle pride and joy*

The paint I used was 'Krylon Fusion' for plastic - pepper red
There's only 1 UK importer/distributor, but they keep a fair bit of stock in various colours.

I tried Plasticote on another 64 and it all went horribly wrong. This stuff just seems to bond to plastic much better without any real effort.

One full coat, I guess. You basically spray lots of thin coats until it looks good and covered!
Do you think your gonna pimp your C64? What colour? Upload some pics when you're done!
Here's some tips if you are:
Shake the can REALLY well for about 2 mins before starting. Hold the can bout 12 inches away. Start spraying *before* you reach the C64 (i.e. - don't spray directly onto the C64 to start, if you know what I mean, or you might 'blob') and go from one side to the other in one constant motion. Don't worry if you miss bits or don't completely cover the first time - the idea is to use multiple thin coats.
Wait 30 seconds before spraying again (in which time you can give the can another good shake). Keep on going until it looks covered. Should be dry to touch within about 30 mins, although I found that it still felt a little tacky until the next day.
It's chip proof after 7 days and you can then add another full coat if you want (although I honestly don't think I'll bother - it looks fine with just the 1 coat).

I have a C64-C that a bunch of my friends thought was funny to mark up with a Black Permanent Marker
I tried cleaning with some chemicals and all that did was smear the ink some more. So it would be nice to spray paint it. Thanks for the Spray painting tips.
I would imagine I might have to sand some of the marker off, since it might show through.

Dunno if it was this forum but does anybody know how to get rid of smoke stain? I got a C64c who did have its share of tobacco over the years until it found its way into my claws.
I can't use the usual acidic stuff, it would ruin the plastic.
