Anyone noticed this ... ?

Anyone notice how similar the chords behind the chorus on Jason Mraz's "Geek In The Pink" are to the arpeggiated sid-chords in Laxity's "Alibi" ?
My wife was listening to 'geek in the pink' the other day and I thought "that chord progression sounds familiar" and today I heard 'alibi' and thought "hmm that sounds like geek" ... anyway I really doubt he stole it, as it is a standard-sounding chord sequence, I just thought the similarity was interesting.
You can hear them here:

Yeah I know. I'm not accusing anything here I just noticed it and thought it interesting. After all, it's kind of impossible to nick a chord progression ... I mean we'd pretty much all be owing to Mr. I-IV-V ...

I hadn't noticed that, but then I'm not familiar with the Laxity tune...
Being a Jason Mraz fan, it's definitely a coincedence rather than anything suspicious... since Jason is self-taught, it's quite possible he just stumbled on a (fairly easy) chord progression he liked and wrote the song around it.

I can see how it may sound similar, but I dont think there is anything deliberate here.
