Commodore Remix

Hi everyone

I've been playin' a bit around with a little new riff here, that is basically just a simple little groove (no melody yet). I've been trying to find some SID that would fit this speed (111BPM) and at the same time sound good... I've given up at the moment, and are thinking about making it an original piece instead, but I just though; why not see if anyone here can find a suitable candidate

Extra points for well known pieces, and preferably from 1982 -> 1988 (which was the year I moved to AMIGA, so anything beyond will not establish any nostagic reaction in me, and I'd rather make it an original then).

There are tons of melodies that could fit in there, unfortunately I cant remember any of the names.

Analog-X: Well off you go then! ... I listened to a lot yesteray, but most are too fast, or way too melodious (too much in the arrangements going up and down, if you get me meaning?)... well... a little goin' up and down in the arrangement would be ok, but too much of it would ruin the groovy feel.

I think I might just have to record some melodies along with the MP3 you've posted here.

Omoroca: Thanx! that seems like an option for sure!... now the timing of 111BPM is not a strict BPM actually... it just has to keep within a reasonable offset so that it still has the feel I put into it... I'll take a greater look at that SID and see if I can cope with it

Analog-X: yep! ... go ahead!... I don't need the luxury of a mix like Omoroca did though, just a HVSC link... that's sufficient enough.

One thing is, that it cannot be very much ambient and "stringy" this one, cause it will disturb the punchy feel of the groove... I think the drums in particular are extremely light, but again VERY punchy in sound (trademark of the Machinedrum obviously). I'd say, that the worst I'll do is some passages with a Kraftwerk'ish robot-choir-like stringsound in the background, otherwise it's just effects, vocal FX and a lead melody that I feel is missing.... and a bit of variation to the rhythm (yes, I took a lesson from my R1D1 remix )
