Tried to contact the mail provider? Maybe you can get the old mail address back with re-registering it.

Many many thanks to DJ Skitz the website is now fixed, and my disappearing posts were caused by some sort of wordpress hack, adding 200 lines about viagra and cialis to my posts!!!!

Nasty thing that is. But good to hear you've got control back.

You might want to upgrade your Wordpress to the latest stable release. There's been a lot of security fixes put out since the 2.1.2 you're currently running got released back in early 2007.

I think Subby has updated the podPress addon now but will he bite the bullet and do the WordPress upgrade which is a little bit more involved....

Aye, Wordpress upgrades are somewhat daunting if you do it the traditional way. I switched to using the subversion route (
http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing/U ... Subversion) a few months back, and it's *so* much easier. Requires shell access to to your webhosting account, though. So you need to be comfortable around a unix command prompt.
1. Disable plugins in the admin panel
2. cd <whatever directory wordpress is installed to>'
3. svn sw
http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/tags/<new version number>/
4. Visit <your blog address>/wp-admin/upgrade.php
5. Reenable plugins in the admin panel
Voila! The whole process takes less than a minute, and nothing outside the WP core files gets overwritten.

Skitz mentioned you're using Podpress. I've never used it myself, but apparently a lot of people complained that it got broken when Wordpress 2.6 came out. AFAIK, the Podpress authors haven't issued an update yet, but there's some fixes around if you google for it.
