Kettle

Post by Cubud »

Hi everyone

I wish I knew about this forum before I uploaded my Kettle remix to kwed.org :-) I am a complete newbie with music, I can often hear things don't sound right but haven't the experience to understand why.

I'd really love to read what you guys have to say about how I should change this tune to improve it. Please keep in mind that if you use jargon such as "Breath" or "Warm" you will need to tell me what you are talking about :-D

Thanks

That's fine, all feedback is good. I am glad you liked the drums, because I *really* struggle to create drum patterns. Previously I just add more and more percussion as the song progresses, but with this tune I sat and tapped on my table with my fingers and imagined what I would like to play if I could actually play the drums :-D In addition to that I trying to mentally picture where each drum piece was and imagine which I could physically hit together in real life (and probably got it wrong). Finally I adjusted the velocities of each percussion note individually based on how much my finger hurt when I hit the table, took ages :-)

Thanks for the feedback. I believe I need to position the instruments a bit, because they are all panned dead centre. What else I need to do I have no idea!
