Looking for a SID with arpeggios

Hi,

I'm not asking for remix suggestions (thus posting here)
but I have a slightly weird question:
What's the most famous/best known SID that makes extensive use
of those typical C64 arpeggios?
(Why I need to know that I can answer you when I finally found a matching SID...)

Hubbard's "Bangkok Knights" uses them for a lot of its main melody, and Galway's Ocean Loader was the first tune I heard that featured them prominently, I think.

Yeah - I'd say Galway's 'Ocean Loader' is the most famous (though we used to call them 'wibbles' back in the day).

Most interesting and original use of wibbles though goes to Martin Walker for his Armalyte Level Loader music. Such wibbletastic use of wibbles...

Ahh, then again if it's famous you're looking for, there's not many people in the UK who won't have heard Dunn's 'Robocop' title music. It was on a washing machine advert here in the UK (albeit the NES version). Don't know about the rest of the planet though...

Now tell us what it's all about, Alfie?

Thanks for your suggestions!
Well, I found a quite easy way to play C64 style arpeggios on guitar and I thought
about doing some kind of short interlude based on a well-known SID-tune in the upcoming
Breakpoint concert, e.g. like this

But it was just a thought, nothing definitive.
More suggestions would be still welcome though. :)

Not being silly here but wouldn't Wizball (with it's already guitar-esque lead) be the most 'Sensible' (geddit?!) option anyway?... I mean, it's pretty damn famous in C64 circles and you kinda have it all right there...

[edit] Oh, and Wizball doesn't really have arps in the sense I was thinking (really fast 'wibble' chord arps, y'know) so in that respect, Ocean Loader or the Armalyte stuff probably wouldn't work anyway.

To be honest I was in fact searching for the "really fast 'wibble' chord arps", just like you said, but when browsing the HVSC I just stumbled across Wizball and had a try.

Call off the search. Stick with Wizball as per the vid - it sounds awesome already (but you may need another guitarist for that lead)!

Armalyte would've been my first answer, too.

[exturl=http://fonix.dyndns.org:40000/soasc/MOS6581R2/MUSICIANS/D/Daglish_Ben/Cobra_T01.sid.mp3]Cobra[/exturl] by Ben Daglish has arpeggio accomp the whole time.

...or anything by Galway, of course! Rambo or Comic Bakery for example!

Thanks for your suggestions, omo!
Unfortunately it'll be unlikely me playing some of that stuff live due to heavy lack of time
for preparation. Maybe I can insert some kind of intro somewhere....I don't know.
But at least I'll save that for some possible future remixes.
