Went to PC Museum + Got some goods.

Post by Analog-X64 »

I recently discovered that there is a PC Museum about 1.5 Hours drive from where I live, which is open once a month.

Some photos will give you an idea what it looks like here: http://www.pcmuseum.ca/galleryview.asp?id=25

They had at least 45 Systems up and running, everything from Pong, Amigas, C64, Tandy's, Sinclairs you name it.

I met and talked to the founder Syd Bolton. Most of us dream about doing something like this, he went ahead and did it.

A lot of PC and Console stuff were being sold, Like XBOX's and PS2 for $20 each. I picked up a C64, C128, 1571 and 2 x 1541-II which I'd never seen before. Now I own a C128 which I always wanted to but couldnt afford, all except the 1541-II's came in their original boxes and manuals in excellent shape.

The 1571 still has the original sticker price of $499!!! Wow!! :) now I remember why I had a datasette for a long time instead of a 1541 drive.

That looks like a really awesome place. I'd love to find someplace like that near me that happens to sell all sorts of old Comoodore goodies.

Wow... This is the place I would like to visit. But it is a little bit far from us...

If there weren't a C64 emulator on my son's PSP I would by a real Commodore 64.

Buy one anyway... NO emulator is ever going to reproduce the sound of a REAL SID !!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride'

Well, I had a few in the past. I loved my Commodores so much. I had two of C16, five of C64, three of Amiga 500, and one Amiga 600.
But recently I realized it is only nostalgia I don't really buy a commodore. Yeah those were the days....

Parallax,

Thanks for the tip I will try the version you've mentioned.
