I'm really sorry for Michael. He was a torn soul desperately seeking for his lost childhood his whole life.
A sad story has come to an end.

the saddest part for me was that Michael Jackson was spread all over every front page and all over the news and Farrah Fawcett was given a mention on page 11 of The Sun :(

Although I wasn't a big fan, I'm sad that Michael Jackson passed away, too.

Here's a SIDish tribute to the King of Pop I've just found:

I grew up with michael jacksons music like most of us here and even got to see (under duress though... i can vividly remember telling my dad i didnt want to go) him in concert at wembley on the bad tour, im glad i went though it was truly an amazing spectacle and ive not seen anything quite like it since and ive been around to many concerts (slipknot are about the only ones that have come close to the whole wow'ness and even that fell short) I cant say that i'll miss him he had pretty much disappeared musically with all the woes and shortfalls of his life and its such a shame that he'll leave a legacy of unknowns, but he'll live on in infamy/legend along with elvis, sinatra, cobain etc as will his music.

apparently there are in excess of 200 recordings we've not heard of his yet, gauranteed they'll slip out slowly but surely to cash in, fill in the financial gaps he's left behind.

Farrah I only really remember from charlies angels (being the pretty one) and having an amazing smile, its always a shame to see someone lose a battle against such a nasty disease though and my thoughts go out to her family.

For anyone interested, I've setup a michael jackson forum called 'The MJJ Appreciation Society' a place for fans to share memories, photos etc....

The week he died I was listening to the Marc Almond album; Fantastic Star and one of the tracks talks about famous musicians who have died. It features the lines;

"And who will be next on the big cross of fame,
A white sequined glove and a big famous name?"

Never paid much attention to that line until now!
