Scary day for Steve..

Post by Subzero »

Yesterday was a scary day for me.

Was sitting in college listening to Bill Shearer drone on and on, had a stretch then suddenly felt like someone has stabbed me in the chest... I doubled up in agony and started to panic. My breathing was erratic, I had a stabbing pain in my chest....I thought I was having a heart attack-not ever having one before I didnt know what it felt like so I guessed it must have felt like that! After ten minutes I managed to calm my breathing down and the pain eased off so I sat up again and BAM! the stabbing pain returned full force!!! By this time an ambulance was already on its way so I asked someone to contact my wife.

Sharon arrived and came with me to the hospital where they took blood, ECG's and blood pressure.

In the end they found that my heart was fine, and the problem was due to a major muscle tear in my back which sent the pain signals around my nerves and to my chest, hence the stabbing chest pains.

It was a scare for sure, and I have a partially shaven chest to show for it.

Get well soon... and please try to take care but not doing anything silly like lifting something or stretching un-necsessaily.

PS: Might as well finish the job and shave everything, and after rub some oi.....errr... ummm... ;)

Thanks chaps. I've had a back problem for about 7 years now but its never been as serious as this, im on very strong painkillers right now which make me very lightheaded, basically all i did was stretch my back and then im on my way to hospital!!!

Im also getting treatment for other problems, Ive had three MRI scans (the most recent scan was on my brain) and in october im getting EMG treatment to find out if I have any problems in my nerves from my neck...so to say im falling apart would be about right...

Not unlike what I was experiencing at BIT2003 - ended up being pleurisy. Not nice.
