Starts OK, nice with the drums and bass, but I'm not sure the "tortured cat" instrument really works in context.

This is just another SID + drums. Not sure what the atonal (counter?) melody is supposed to do but it just doesn't fit_at_all and it hurts my ears. Leave that atonality out and you'll be left with SID + drums...
Come one, you can do better that this, even if it's with GM(+) sounds. Put a lot more of "you" in it. The composition can handle it. What about you?..
