Commodore 64 Advanced Music Studio (1985)

As I'm seemingly only able to find copies of the regular Music Studio online, I did the honours and uploaded my own copy to the web:

The webpage contains packaging shots, a link to a demonstration on BBC Television, plus both versions of the software and selected manual pages.

I think the software's lovely for making jingles and it has a wonderful keyboard overlay synthesiser section.. with invertible envelopes! (Instant convenience!)

The below Datel advert from 1990 got me drooling for a moment, wishing that I too could have all that MIDI hardware and 8-bit sequencer goodness for just £99.99... until I remembered that I actually own those already, barring the funky synth-guitar. (But my MIDI-equipped SFX Sound Expander and keyboard makes up for that, the SFX containing a Yamaha FM chipset).

Forty quid in 1990 is more like 75 today, but for the times a fully-fledged decently powerful MIDI suite for such a cost is admittedly quite exciting to remember. More than competitive and I think this was an example of as good as it got to remain self-contained without moving to professional-level gear.

Such a nice, pristine period promotion. It reminds you just what a big deal a C64 still is when expanded to take advantage of its fullest synth potential.
