Old school C64 game for £8.99 - New Release 2010! Yes 2010!

A newly released game scoring a very respectable 8/10 at bittech, but what is interesting is the price (£8.99) and the obvious C64-ness. There's a demo too, although when I played there are some rather large hang up/slow down issues (maybe just my machine!)

Anyway - the reviewer points to influences from BBC and Spectrum, but doesn't once mention the C64, which shows he's not as old school as he likes to make on, as the loader, font, colour shceme , music and gfx are all obviously designed under the guise of a C64 game.
Whether you like it or loath it, I think the main interesting talking point is the price tag, and the fact that it could well have been released as a C64 game.

Interesting to hear others thoughts....me personally, I quite like it and find it interesting that such an old school game can get such major press and praise.

Had great fun playing the demo. While it certainly owes a lot to Jet Set Willy on the Speccy it could easily have been done on the old breadbin as well. I really like how the gravity-flipping forces you to think about the environment in a different way. Which, as the reviewer points out, is what Portal also did.

This one could easily be an 800 pts game on the Xbox Live Arcade. And speaking of XBLA, I really should get back to playing Braid one of these days.
