Hello,

this might be a dumb question, but which license are the songs on remix.kwed.org licensed under? Is it GPL?

I can see the small print at the bottom of the site where reads that the files are "freely distributable".

As the licenses may vary, are the torrent's contents licensed under the same license (for example the "RKO-2009 Complete" torrent)?

Since the underlying SIDs are copyrighted under normal copyright laws, the remixes and torrents are operating under the "if you don't charge for it, no one minds very much" licencing scheme. Which is to say, if you need to use anything from RKO in another project, contact both the remixer and the author of the SIDs, or their publisher, because the licences people have granted to RKO are not automatically transferable. Generally the remixers give implicit permission to RKO by the act of uploading their tracks, and most SID copyright holders have given Jan the green light to operate. Thus RKO can exist comfortably. But the "I got it free off the Internet, therefore I can do what I like with it" assumption isn't valid here.
