Sampling a SID

Post by Andersson »

Hey people! Happy new year! :)

I know that you can make a .wav of a SID in sidplay, but is it possible to just make a file out of one channel somehow? I don't really hve any knowledge about SIDs 'n Such, but when you make a midi in sid2midi it splits all "instruments" into channels and I'd just like the sound of one of those without having all the other sounds in the background. example, just sampling the lead.

Happy new year to you all!

You can play any single channel on its own in Sidplay, then export that as a Wav.

I havent played with any of the latest SIDPlay's but in the older versions, you can go into the Mixer settings and mute channels and export to wave that way.

The mixer is only usable on older versions of Sidplay, the last few versions have it blanked out in the menu...

Yeah, you'll need this version, if you are using Windows...

And there lies the problem. The older versions of Sidplay cant handle the new Sidplay2 Format. :(

We need a sourceforge project for Sidplay.

Yeh sidplay 2 is great for the newer sid tracks where you can really here the filters just how they should be..
Only down side as people state above is that for some reason the mixer option is disabled ???, don't know why :x

Had the same problem when I was doing the tracks for B.I.T live events, luckly Ziphoid kindly helped out as Sidplay 2 on the mac has the mixer option available so he sent me the single channel wavs 8)
