"It would seem the game over tune in Shadow of the Beast 2 is heavily inspired by a tune in a Miami Vice episode (Season 5, Episode 1)."
'Shadow of the Beast 2 music taken from Miami Vice' ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-qaW2mLEsA
Links for the original MOD file (MP3)

...but I'm not entirely sure about this:
Listen to the ending of 'New York Theme' by Jan Hammer (from about 2:40 on) ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azJ0fNAQqiw
Then listen to these tunes:

Blended Stereo ---> http://www.se2a1.net/soasc/dl.php?d=soa ... 01_MIX.mp3
These should be identical but I copy them here in case the links above are defunct:

Just another funny coincidence? Considering that the game over tune was inspired by a Miami Vice tune, it should not come off as a total surprise if the short tune in SotB was influenced by the last seconds of Jan Hammer's 'New York Theme' (which was also used in Miami Vice).

By the way, I happen to have a very long and information-laden list of remix suggestions (I have had it since the summer of 2009) but the problem is that the HD on which I had it failed and is unreadable. I'll try to recover all the data when I have enough time (perhaps this summer).
