It looks fine.
How long did it take? And was it easier or harder than it looks? People assume, often rightly, that you can dash off many intricate-seeming pictures and music in software nowadays.
Though I will say the ship loses its cartoony, blocky charm being rendered via more modern computers. But the detail and quality of your version definitely notices.

Brilliant!!!
You captured the look, I couldnt have pulled it off, like you did.

Was that the actual ship doing the shooting in the game?

No, that was the ship carrying your Vaus (bat). In the intro/attract sequence, a spaceship warps in, shoots at the dome and releases the Vaus, which gets sucked into another dimension to battle Doh...

Didn't get a single word of that! Merman used English words and presented them well. But it didn't help.
I think the stories they put to these simple shooters just made things worse!

i did it over 3 nights, but in total i think i spent about 3 hours on it.
the modeling was easy (just build it bit by bit - one side is copied and adjusted for the other side)
the textures were more difficult (finding the right ones, modifying them to suit better and edditing the colours to mono)
the hardest models i have made were the Colonial Viper (some nasty shapes to make in Bryce) and the S.I.D Fighter for Back in Time 3 (I only had a couple of static images of the original to copy off ... thats why mine is slightly different to the origional ... its hard to interpret some shapes when you only see it from one angle)

Ever thought about doing the Titanic or something like that?

funny enough, yes.
briefly.
until i realised how much of a git the hull would be in Bryce.
using bryce is different to most other modeling packages in that you take primitive shapes (cubes, spheres etc) and carve lumps out of them with other primitive shapes.
making a ships hull would be a pain.
the rest of it would be easy though.

Are you talking about the hull now or before it sank?
Or, if it's easier, why not try the R101, the Socialists' loser airship?

before she sank.
that 'ship shape' bow would involve a lot of doing.
the R101 (built before the R100 ... indeed, the R100 was never finished because of what happened to the R101) would be much easier.
it is mainly an elongated sphere after all.

examples of the wireframes:
the Arkanoid ship
one section near the front (the section made with a dotted line will be subtracted from the section made of the solid line)
that section rendered (note how the 'cut' works on the top to make the angle)
the S.I.D Fighter from B.I.T 3 (one or two objects used to make this
)
and the Colonial Viper Fighter (this is actualy the very first model that i made in Bryce ... talk about in at the deep end !)
the Viper rendered.
notice how fat the body looks in the wireframe compared to the final render. this is because i needed several stages of build to end up with the final shape.
i had to create shapes that would end up being negative objects to carve other shapes that would themselves be negative objects to carve the final shape !
like i say, i could of cut my teeth on an easier model.
saying that, my first attempt at animating in Bryce ended up being the Trap demo !
i learn the hard way

Oh I don't know. They got it up and went to Canada in the R100. Both ships were constructed concurrently, with the R100 shipshape first.
Go on, do the R101!
