Click the link and check out this wonderful work in depixelizing graphics.

http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/ ... index.html

There are some amazing examples of blocky characters turned into wonderful vector smooth images....now I don't normally get excited about this, and you're probably wondering what's the point, but these guys are working on a way to do this render/conversion REAL TIME. Implications are hugely improved 8 bit games, where blocking characters can be changed into super smooth versions, and of course imagine how different your c64 games could look ????

There is a more detailed explanation, and if you have any interest in graphics and technology I suggest you check it out...some of the examples were just phenomenal!
Hope to see this is photoshop cs7 ??? Well who knows, but its certainly an improvement on current vector conversions, etc

Bleem boasted it could do the same for Playstation graphics on the PC. And there's a feature on the Vice emulator which can 'blob' the pixels for a similar effect but nothing as good as this.

I certainly would enjoy experimenting with my Commodore-level photo graphics and comparing them with the JPG originals. Once the teaser page publishes release details.
