Commodore Remix

Hi sidchip fans!

I've been busy working away at this track during the month of August. It's a Skyfox IIremix and it's inspired by Pink Floyd's On The Run from the album Darkside of the Moon. I've taken a riff from the c64 track speeded it up to 164 BPM and it ended sounding like this. I've added ambient effects and even hung my mic out of the window to capture sounds.
This is only a work in progress mix to get the concept across.



It's a little bit arty in terms of a remix though but I understand outlandish remixes are considered.
What do you think? Is the idea and concept worth submitting when the uploads are made available again.

Probably a Marmite track. Release it when it's done: the way to look at it is that if you make x people happy with it, then you've increased the sum total of happiness, which increases with listening. People who didn't like it won't listen to it all the way through eve once, so their happiness is only decreased temporarily and by increments: though you wouldn't know it to read some of the negative comments on stuff! So, on balance, you've done a good thing, despite any bitching.

I enjoyed this as an idea. Would very much like to hear it finished.

It's nearly finished now.
The only downside is that there isn't really much from the original sid track; just the beginning riff and a bassline. It's thin on sid melody I know but I've heard bands remix a commercial tracks and hardly use anything from the original so I guess thats the world of remixing for you.
I've tried to keep this remix with the same feel as On The Run by Pink Floyd and I believe I have achieved that goal, so I'm well pleased with the concept.
Expect a release of SkyFox II (Darkside Remix) in the near future....
