03/11/2024

FastLoaders released their second triple-album Amiga Rocks in the summer of 2020, an album entirely dedicated to the Amiga computer and its music. Due to COVID the release party of the album could not happen until the Back In Time Live party in October 2022 where the FastLoaders performed many tracks from the album together with several original composers, like Chris Hülsbeck, Tim Wright, and Barry Leitch. The video recording of that concert will debut on YouTube on Nov 23, 2024 at the link below.

Remix64 update: Unified Remixes, One Place for All Your Votes & Reviews!

31/10/2024

We’ve just made a big improvement to how you enjoy remixes here on Remix64. As you might know, remixes appear in either category: C64 Remixes, Amiga Remixes, and Album Releases. However, this meant that identical tracks appearing in multiple categories ended up scattered, with separate votes, reviews, and comments for each version.

Now, we’ve streamlined the system! If a remix is available in more than one category, you’ll see it all in one place. All votes, reviews, and feedback on any version of the remix now count toward a single, unified spot—making it easier to see what the community thinks and to find everything in one place. Also you'll find links to the other categories of the same release on the remix page.

This means better organization, more comprehensive feedback, and less confusion for everyone. Go check it out and let us know what you think!

A double release can still compete in both Best Amiga and Best c64 categories at the ROTY awards.

Remixers: if you have released or will release a track in multiple categories, let us know, so we can set you up. We've already linked up many past releases, but there are surely many more.

M1x3d Up

by Instant Remedy

The album is more of an extended EP and not a full album since it only has 8 tracks. Some of the tracks are old remixes which never made it to commercial platforms but by working out the copyright stuff and remastering them now have found a way to your favorite streaming service. 4 of the tracks are original compositions I made some years ago which I remixed/remastered to make them fit your ears better. Although the styles of the tracks are a bit m1x3d (hence the album name), the primary direction of the sound is a classic 90’s dance style with SID sounds and crispy arp chords – the classic IR sound. This is what I think most fans will appreciate.

Listening Recommendation

 Zybex (Zipbacks feat. BakiTheFox Kacepru)

Arranged by DJ Czyszy

The purist in me is protesting: but this is not a 1:1 cover of the original! True, but it's still bloody amazing! The rock-style arrangement is spot-on, the instrumentation was obviously carefully chosen, the guitars are played craftily, and the result is a powerful piece of music that also happens to be a mind-blowing SID remix.

Storm (Its more fun to remix)

Arranged by ifadeo

Even if you never listened to this cover you'll recognize two Kraftwerk references here: first, the name of the remixer which is a reference to Kling- Klang Studios, second the reference to the It's more fun to compute Kraftwerk piece. The cover itself also contains some Kraftwerk references: the opening seconds remind me of Autobahn, the more or less simplistic arrangement also smells of Kraftwerk. Unfortunately, most of the sounds selected for this cover are of the modern Kraftwerk variety and I am not too fond of them in this context. A neat idea that needs to be worked on more.

 Paperboy

Arranged by Luode

First of all, I think it's completely inappropriate to criticize a newcomer for his very first remix in this way, especially since the AI accusations don't seem to be true at all. People can have different opinions about music styles and tastes, but someone has made the effort to remix a song, so this should be recognized and appreciated in the first place! I find your remix quite interesting and in a way it suits my taste too. Although I wouldn't have immediately recognized it as a Paperboy remix if it hadn't been named that! 😉 The quality of the mixing and mastering could be improved. I think the arrangement is pretty good. You're on the right track. I definitely think there's enough potential here for more exciting and good sounding remixes and I would like to encourage you to keep at it and make more remixes for us to enjoy!
