Story
Sweet (My Sun Shines On)
This is a remix version of the fantastic Johannes Bjerregaard tune Sweet.

Vocals were done my yours truly (with help from a bit of auto-tuning

The remix also features live violin, played by my girlfriend Sunniva.

The song is dedicated to her, my gift from the sun (a literal translation of the name Sunniva from Irish).

Tehcnical notes:
Witn the exception of vocals and violin, everything in this remix was created in software. No hardware synths/samplers or hardware mixers etc., just for the heck of it.

Please enjoy!

This is a very cool remix. Simple, yet powerful.
Lagerfeldt continues to produce excellent remixes. Great vocals, violin accompaniment is nice. Even outstrips Marcel Donne's excellent version (sorry Marcel! :) ). Should be a lot higher in the charts than it is.
Very cool vocal and sound
Great
I think this has been underrated as this mix suits this tune perfectly producing a fantastic mix of europop and trance
Pipped by Donne's as it just misses in the SAD part. The driving is better though.
If you say electronic music can't be emotional, you're totally wrong. This is a masterpiece.
Another great remix keep up the great work.
This should have been released on a 12" vinyl and it could have been a smashing hit!! No kidding!!!
Great idea with the vocals, but I am a bit annoyed by the autotuning at times. Lovely backing, but the dance rhythm loop was a mistake. Should've kept it as a melancholic track. Also, the arrangment is missing some of the most emotional parts of original.
Me gustaaa!
The power of pure awsomnes
Vocals à la "Daft Punk" ;)
How did I miss this excellent remix... I like how Lagerfeldt gets the original theme and transforms it into something fabulous... The mixing and sound is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just great! Added to my collection. My kids love it. Sunshine music!
If Cher did a remix of Sweet, this is what it would sound like.. Its a cheesetastically eurodisco horrorshow.
Sounds good just keep up the good work
Almost 10 years hence, this pro remix by Lagerfeldt retains its hauntingly fresh style and still deserves credit. Awesome!

I have listened to this song over and over for a good thirty minutes now, and still it has the same effect it did the first time I listened to it - A suddening awesome emotional tug caused by a wonderfully designed and put together piece.

The original piece of music I loved, and found it the inspiration for a number of creative works I have done myself. This remix has managed to not only capture the emotional overwhelming feel of the original tune, but has enhanced on it by including the haunting and utterly stunning vocals.

To me a song needs feeling, emotions, and a theme and this song has all those. In a style and feel all its own, Lagerfeldt has managed to pull off a professional remix of an originally classic and in my opinion improve on the original. Even though it isn't really in the same style of the original (this is a rexmix after all) the new feeling of this remix is just as powerful, and strong as the original classic C64 piece by Johannes.

I have spent a number of my relistens to the piece to try and pick out something I didn't like, or that could have been better, but honestly I don't think I could add to this piece. It might have been nice to hear an attempt to bring in the guitar solo stage (position 2:01) of the original piece, but as it stands now I am not sure if that would have damaged or improved the overall feel of this piece (probably damaged it).

There is only one way to sum up this song… WOW…

More please!! 😃

Oh dear… what's going on here. An absolutely fantastic tune not even reaching the top 100 on RKO. WHat can I say but… This is the finest tune you've done so far. Great additional lyric and keeping the sid sound alive are big pluses. The composition is professional beyond words (for me anyway!), and as a dance track there's no doubt that the way you've combined the original sid with the smooth chords at the start would make this an instant hit! Oh, and the drums are so varied and fresh - rather than just your normal lazy and placid bass/snare/superfast hi-hat efforts that normally accompany your average hit dance record. Brilliant stuff - rapidly becoming one of my favorite remixes of all time!
