Story

There have been a few requests for this one over the years, here on Remix64.

So, here you are… A little journey and a little story based on the original storyboard & brief that I got, many years ago at Ocean…

Although the original C64 SID subtunes are nothing, compared to todays dynamic, reactive, game soundtracks, Tai-Pan was, sort of the 1st, novice attempt, to put music into a game that followed the on-screen action. I spent lots of time with the programmers & graphic artists just watching and learning the 'flow' of the game, as I was producing the music, (and fitting the finished track into only 8k of RAM, including the play routine).

Very good stuff, like that!
This one rocks! Bravo!
Superb
Great oriental vibe with an overall film-score feel to it. Superbly atmospheric.
Nope!!
It's like a mix of Mike Oldfield Albums. Kinng fields, Tubular bells, Omadawn, Amarok, Voyager.. VERY SATISFIED

Epic! Great use of the oriental sonic palette throughout, tastefully mixed with the synthy instruments. And big plus points for including subtune #2 in this remix which is my most favorite Tai-Pan track of all. What a trip! I can't get enough of it! 😊 Thanks for sharing it with us!

Very film-score-esq!! I had to give this several listens to hear everything that's going on and going in. Mr Clarke, your remixes get better and better and just like La La, you get extra points from me for including sub #2. It definitely captures the feel and atmosphere of the game and artistically and technically?? Well, Nailed 100%. A great remix.
