Popnapp - Andi-Music - Tune 1
2483. in all-time charts
Ancient History:
I got hold of Chris Huelsbecks Soundmonitor in 1986, I guess. That was a revelation and I stopped my own tries of programing crappy music immediately. Instead I made a few tracks with this cool tool around 1987, shortly before buying the Amiga and more or less abandoning the good old C64.
New Story:
After using a DAW for about 15 years now and creating many crappy pop songs, that the world never ordered, I finally thought: hmm, I could try some of these cool remixes that the guys over at Remix64 have. Just use some synth lead and stop try singing. So here is my first remix of my own tune from 1997.
Original Music:
Created with Soundmonitor by Chris Huelsbeck. I called the piece Big Man On Mulberry Street
(after the same title by Billy Joel, but the music was not related).
Remix:
Created with Reason as a DAW in about 3 days. That was fun!
I guess, a logical next step on my journey is try to remix Commando
by Rob Hubbard. 😊 Just kidding.
But a promotional remix by Rob Hubbard himself, done with an old version of the Reason software was the main reason, why I have choosen Reason as my DAW, around 2010 I think. So cool to have sooo many instruments and tracks nowadays. More than 3 channels at the same time. Wow!
