Future Knight - arranged by Jarle H. Olsen

Review by Grigul, 03/11/2017

When I heared that track (must be yesterday) I thought Woooow. I'm still at that state - it's an awesome track. The bassy (or dark played) electric guitar (the one you hear first) and it's slow play are wonderful. Mr Olsen - great job!!! ^^

Spellbound Dizzy - Main Theme - arranged by Peter Gantar

Review by Grigul, 02/11/2017

First of all - thanks for charing that tune, Mr. Gantar. Afaik you're a newcomer, so we all know it's hard to come into this scene. I'm not a musician, so I can't imagine how much work it needs to deliver a tune here, but - It needs a better job to compete here, that's what I can say as Just-a-listener. I don't want to compare you, Mr Gantar, to other musicians and remixers here (that would be unfair in my opinion), but If you listen to them (especially to those who have also a yellow button or better) you hopefully recognize that they're better. A lot of them are for years in that scene, some even longer. Try to get next to them, or just in range. Sounds easy, but is hard, very hard work for you. Please, Mr Gantar, try it. ^^

Last Ninja 2 - Basement Loader (SID Overdrive mix) - arranged by LPChip

Review by Grigul, 02/11/2017

Yeaaahh… finally another LPChip tune. A nice interpretation of Last Ninja 2. I personally like the Sid overdrive mixes by LP Chip, but - exactly that is the reason why I can't give a red button. This tune reminds me strongly to other Sid overdrive mixes, so it is not a surprise, it's not something fresh or new. I hope, LPChip, you understand, what I mean. So finally: A very good track, I like it. Thanks for charing, LPChip. ^^

WorldCup 90 (Genias) - arranged by Sten

Review by AudioSeeker, 01/11/2017

I liked this song on Amiga 28 years ago… and this is really a nice remix without invent some strange thinks to make the remix different from original. It's sounds modern but i recognize the style of the original and the melody here is really amazing with as background an very nice harmonic line. No other remix are present here so max vote for the effort of the author!

Over The Net - arranged by Sten

Review by AudioSeeker, 01/11/2017

Not agree with daXX. Seems that was made disharmonic not as mistake but as imitation of the orginal an little bit distorted sound of the Amiga version. If found genial the smooth shift to an similar song Blood Money. I found also Worldcup 90 here, same author, and the sound is perfect. So the disharmomic stuff should be here intentional.

Gyroscope (Scare-o-scope Halloween Mix) - arranged by LaLa

Review by Vred, 31/10/2017

Hearing haunting Halloween-Sounds with some scary screaming the tune creates a monster-mashing mood. Interrupted by a breathless break which brings a delightful dark doomsday-feeling the tune only misses some cute crazy cats with multiple meows or ordinary owls using u-uuuus. Happy Halloween!! 😉

The Chase (Sword of Honour) - arranged by DHS

Review by L0rd3vyL, 03/10/2017

DHS has done it again with another amazing tune. I really like the lyrics in this one, as it reminds me of a song you would hear in an 80s buddy cop film.

Yo! Joe! - Haunted House - arranged by Rapture

Review by onlineamiga, 03/09/2017

This is a brilliant remix of the original, keeping to the original style, but with modern instruments and high quality. Exactly what Amiga Remix is all about. Very well done, seems a little faster than the original but that's OK.

Odyssey - arranged by Jan Morgenstern

Review by Rockabit, 29/08/2017

Simply one of the best chiptune remixes I have ever heard. Jan Morgenstern nails it. Whether the fine tuned electronic sounds or the funky bass line, or the high pitched spacy bendings – this is pure retro dope.

Period in 3D - arranged by Jan Morgenstern

Review by Rockabit, 29/08/2017

Can you combine a rhodes piano with an electronic clap beat and a p-funk bass line?

Yes, and you also can add some crazy electric melodies with the sense to shot you far into the universe. Just take your time and enjoy a trip with this modern remix sound. Needles to say that this composition by Joris de Man (Scavenger) belongs to the very rare events in chiptune history.

Wizball 2012 roudoudouzzz mix - arranged by Rodolphe Bost

Review by Waxhead, 18/07/2017

Nice intro, the electric sweep at the beginning is just perfect. Then the technical rhythmic beeps create a nostalgic computerish feel and great harmonic backdrop before the lead cuts through loud and clear. Soft drums fills the gaps and soft piano is filling the void before the lead cuts through again.
The lead never gets boring either. Playing on the nostalgia factor. The drums do get a bit stressed before the end. This is the only thing that I would have eased off a bit on. The surprising end is very nice. Overall great sound, excellent performance, nice buildup and a just perfect ending.

Nine Lives - arranged by MRT

Review by Ryrynz, 17/07/2017

Things get serious at 5:17, never heard this track before but this remix works very well with this tune. A stand out remix of the year IMO.
After listening to this a few times I now would love to hear a similar yet heavier version that goes on for a bit longer after it steps up past 5:17

Paperboy (Titus Mix) - arranged by Phillip Gross

Review by B3L4, 15/07/2017

I hear something in this production!!!

Try this: intro with the organ what you made in the song (make a bit crazy intro) it is awesome, and build up from there! It is like deep purple organ on paper boy and I bet it does work, just take your time. Put the drum in the back (lower the volume, more bass)
At 0:46 it kicks in but try to start with that and use it as main (loudest) instrument. I would like to hear that version.

C'mon peps let support this idea!

Ps: listen to the dead guy version how to space out 😃

SWIV (Decimation Remix) - arranged by Aknotronic

Review by neglesaks, 08/07/2017

…, but the mixing isn't that well done and it has a background hiss that puts me off. While boasting an interesting choice of instruments that has big potential this remix is not that inspired. With a few tweaks it could be a lot better.

Oh, and again this is one of the classic shoot-em-up tunes that has ONLY ONE remix submitted. Come on people…

Hymn To Aurora - arranged by Isacco Garcia Peveri

Review by Lonax, 28/06/2017

Haunting, brings back memories of great home computing, when anything was possible. Simple, uncluttered melody with good use of synth sounds, its easy to go over the top and ruin things, but this one doesn't, keeps it simple without being overly repetitive.

Very well produced and brings back some happy memories.
