Story

Since I already made a completely different Warhawk remix almost two decades ago, there was no need to do another one frankly.
However, when I met thereminist Bass Cadet, we spontaneously decided to collaborate on something, and it turned out that Warhawk was one of the C64 tracks that seemed to suit well for playing on theremin (although still very difficult to master). Since we got the opportunity to play it live on X-Party 2023 pretty short notice - in front of Rob Hubbard! - I needed to prepare an arrangement that works for a single guitar and theremin performed as a duo live on stage.
So, this live arrangement became the core of the remix, I just added a 70s bossa drum machine, typical bass guitar and 70s synth pads. We found out that a certain part worked much better with saxophone than theremin, so Bass Cadet recorded live sax for me as well. I hope you have some relaxing fun with the outcome. 😊

Important trivia: The intro lead was played using Susanna's SID Theremin prototype as pictured on the photo. So you hear an actual SID played with the antennas.

Warhawk is one of the best songs ever made. To take on such a tune is not an easy task. The theremin sings perfectly as the magnificent guitar licks smoothly in the background. Totally amazing with the tinypop drums and all the nuts and bolts. Keep it going!
