Tim Forsyth - Lightforce
There are 50+ remixes of Lightforce out there and I came so close to naming this Yet another lightforce remix
.
In the end, I didn't want to label mine in order to stand out or risk diminishing the hard work everyone has put in remixing this amazing tune over the years. Besides, you can never have too many Lightforce remixes!
The only brief I set myself was to make sure I had an energetic and uplifting lead solo. After many attempts at different styles, most of which were too dark, I settled on something fun and upbeat.
I tried many different approaches to the intro and somehow, I ended up remixing my remix in a Daft Punk style. It had a certain charm about it and for bonus points, it sounded absolutely nothing like the original or my track. I quite like the idea that someone will start this remix and think, hey, this isn't lightforce!
The end section is perhaps my favourite part of Rob's original. I went far darker than I originally indended to, it doesn't quite fit the style of music that precedes it but it sounded so good to my ears, I had to leave it in.
So here's my contribution to the lightforce pool, a few of the transitions between sections are a bit uneaven but overall I'm happy with the result. I can finally tick this one off my to-do list!

Tim is proving himself to be quite the remix meister, and here's another proof of that. A surprising, but very creative intro followed by a more upbeat straight
remix of Lighforce, and it concludes with a much darker outro. As usual with Tim's remixes, the mixing is top-notch and it all just sounds very satisfying to my ears.
PS: Prior to release [https://www. remix64. com/board/viewtopic. php? f=1&t=11773 Tim put up just the intro part of his remix in the R64 forum for people to guess] which tune's remix it is. I don't think anybody got it right, including me. That was a fun little game. 😉
