Story

I've often thought of revisiting an older remix to see if I could come up with a different take, with better production.

Robocop came back into my head again while working on Shades. I had this neat preset in Moog Mariana, this wide synth drone that when pitch bent, sounded perfect for the opening of Robocop. It wasn't quite working in Shades, so when I cut it, I went off on a tangent and started this remix.

This started life more like new order, but after messing around on a electric piano, it went in a completely different direction.

I finally got the chance to remix the end of the original SID too. Although once again, the sounds I chose lead me down another completely different path where I felt the need to grab the guitar. With the music box (Speldosa), piano and space echo plucks, I felt some Radiohead vibes, so I blatantly ripped off the zx spectrum random arpeggios from let down and ended with this and a nice big wash of sound.

Awesome new take!
Great chillout pop vibes here! I can just imagine this playing while I stand outside at dusk and wonder at the stars that are slowly coming up on the cloudless sky...
It's a red. It gives me chills and it is one of the better remixes of (probably) the best c64 track ever written.
