Story

Ok, it _was_ Kaos until an HVSC update years ago reattributed this memorable melody to an intro rather than a demo.

I have no idea how I know this song or why it popped into my head one day, took me ages to track down the name of the track or the composer.

Being brave, I have a solo piano at the start and must have done 50+ takes and some note nudging to make it passable. (I'm definitely no Reyn and quantizing piano robs it of the human touch). Having few piano apps at my disposal, I've picked the best one but the sustain is a bit ringy and the tone a bit muffled, couldn't do much about that.

It's Kaos, so why not stick a big lead solo at the end eh? That was fun to make.

I've realised the transition to the end sounds like a TV show, as the title music spills over into the studio, just before the presenters speak. Tonight, on crime watch!

A bit of a mixed bag then! I've not made anything for months due to lack of time and I don't feel it's the best thing I've made recently, but i decided to release it to get it out of my music making schedule so I can move on. I was super happy with the solo and the clean bass at the end through. Hope you like it.

Edit: in retrospect I was a bit worried I had over cooked the high end with my aging ears but given the comments, it's probably ok, phew!

Fantastic intro - the piano could be better, NOT because of the performance, which is great, but because of the sound/mix and general feeling. I concede it could be down to personal taste but taking the piece as a whole I would want a softer, higher sound for the intro. It would serve as a great contrast to what's coming (it already does, but would be more pronounced). Love the brass of course - how could I not 😊 When the synths come in and the drop, OMG Tim! Holy crap! Given even more listens I think this might become my new Favorite Forsyth™!

This remix has everything: a poignant prolonged intro, a more uptempo, rockier middle, and a quiet, introspective outro. Arrangement-wise, I wish the introduction of middle part was given more of a 'story' arc (with a gradual crescendo), and I feel the very end is just way too abrupt. But what really gets me, what really tugs at my heartstrings is the first 2 and half minutes - absolutely stunning, and that alone was worthy of the admission price.
