Tomsk - Fourth Protocol
I've always loved this short tune, and in my mind it's got an almost hymn like quality. So with that I approached the remix hoping to make it sound like something similar, with orchestral and choir like elements. I was advised to bring the choir forward in the mix, to give the tune better focus, so that's what happened.
I hope purists of this lovely SID tune can forgive the intro and outro, which are my own creation, based around the same chord structure as the main tune…it was simply too short as it stood and I decided it needed these to flesh out the theme.
TRIVIA….can you guess what the male backing choirs are singing at 02:36 - 02-42….;)
Hope you enjoy my take on this oft overlooked and beautiful SID
Many thanks to Peter Clarke on mixing duties, and the mighty Danko for mastering.

Fourth Protocolwith a symphonic instrumentation that harkens back to the era of romanticism. The real power of this piece is undoubtedly the choir, which lends evocative emotional undertones to this track. The echoes of this remix will stay with you long after the final note fades away…
