Thankyou Westerling! I always said this would work as a ROCK number and suggested it to SID80's - come on guys, play this arrangement at BITLITE! Only criticism is I think you should lose the SID drums and expand with real percussion
I can't help loving this one, despite a few minor flaws.
"Game Over" & Rock? Wow! From the first second on! Though the Drums in the last part almost ruin your efforts.
I like this, real nice guitar remix... Keep'em coming westerling!
Mixing sounds better now, nice guitars everywhere, but the SID drums get a bit too obtrusive at times and need changing. The last minute almost spoils the whole thing and needs some tweaking - that bass doesn't work. Good effort all round though.
The control on your guitar vibrato is sublime; however, the outro part of the mix doesn't live up to the standard set within the first two and a half minutes.
The SID drums fit very nicely.... And compared to the rest of the week it is really outstanding.. Some flaws do not dimmish my voting :-)
Whoa! That tune rocks, although I can´t remember original...
Wang! .. Thats the only word I can think of when listening to this... WANG!
I just LOVE that guitar-riff...! Although I have to admit (being a drummer) that some of the drumparts are rather freaky :) But full points I say!!!
The guitar is indeed very good but the rest only mediocre. And thinking we guitar guys should stick together it's still a dark yellow one!
Excellent work, especially for the use of instruments
Powerfull stuff!
Excellent remake of a great C64 track!!!
Whoa, this just blew me away, I'd never have thought this track would sound that good as a rock tune. Great production. Love all the original SID bits in it as well. One word: Outstanding!
The first part is outstanding, but the rest of it should be cut out and put in a mix of its own... They don't seem to fit together.
GREAT version, guys!!! Fits very well all over! Though agree on the drum thing! Maybe a 2nd version with _real_ rock drums could blast it to the MAXIMUM limit of a real KILLER tune!
That's just a cool guitar!
This tune can't really be bad, can it?:)
This is the way I hear the original sid is ment to be like: Progressive style rock. Hooked on that guitar riff!
Since I never liked the original's arrangement, I am mystified why this remix sticks to it. Regardless, great prog rock feel, but it screams for real guitar players.
Good, well produced. However, the beat is too stiff for my liking
Well done.
This one is all over the map. Some parts are excellent while others are so-so.
Very true to the original I think. Nice guitar and synth work!
This rocks!!!!!! Added to my collection.
GREEEAT REMIX!! GREEEAT guitar-playing!!
Very nice
#1 cover of my favourite Galway tune. Cheers, axe grindin' fella'! \m/,
This work is pure awesomeness
Great!

Okay -… I hated the original track for this sid - I just found it really wasn't put together right, and in essence felt there was always something missing. Also it sounded like so many other tunes of this period where people tried to do something with the C64 that shouldn't be done (pretend it was a guitar).

Now you have done what I believe the original artist wanted. This piece has a great guitar feel to it, and certainly you pull off what the original SID doesn't. The mix you do here is really smooth in most of the places, then you do hit a break in 2.45 where I feel… well it just seems to have lost that real feel to it and has gone very fake. I certainly feel it weakened the piece over all. I just feel that maybe there was a better way to pull this break off, in a way that kept it mixed together with the original start.

But in saying that, your start just really makes up for this songs weak poiints - it is well played, well put together and well mixed. If you ever plan on doing a rearrangement of this piece, improving the end would in my opinion make this one of the better rock remixes of the year.

Wow! I really loved this remix - albeit slightly flawed as it is. Hyped up drums, brilliant sounds and a bit of SID pumped in there to add to the feeling. My only gripe is that after the brilliant opening (complete with blazing guitar and superb drums) and the superb way Westerling handles that awkward 'quiet' section of the original between 1:52 - 2:44 it all returns to being a bit average. None of the pumped up feeling that we were treated to at the start of the track. It just kind of returns to a pretty good remix of Gameover, and then fizzles out.
I still love this tune to bits though and have to say a huge well done to Westerling - I do hope you can see what I mean about the end part of the mix going a bit flat.

I had always thought, playing the guitar can't be that difficult. Until Romeo Knight and most others who tried to play C64 music on the guitar gave me the impression that it's almost impossible to produce a good sound on the electric guitar unless you're Slash or Steve Stevens.

But Westerling gave me new hope! Keep on rocking, dude! 😉
