Delta (Spanish guitar) - arranged by Noviello PippoReview by plokolp, 02/05/2005 Man, if I could play guitar half as good as this, I'd be twice as happy! This is good stuff. Good for an Argentine Tango ala Delta. |

Furycalypse Now (feat. Tuomio) - arranged by AxemanReview by plokolp, 02/05/2005 I loved this one. I am not familiar with the original SID, so I gave a neutral on that one. Great guitar work. More importantly, I think this piece of music achieves what all great music should do - it makes you think and reflect on things. With a war theme and samples of the movie, this is a great tune that really got me thinking about the futility of war. This is powerful stuff. The choppers, the gas, the gunfire, the scream when the guy is shot - brilliant. The haunting last words of 'Someday this war is going to end" take this fantastic remix out. Oh, did I mention I really liked the guitar work? |

Sidology Episode 3 - arranged by machinae supremacyReview by plokolp, 02/05/2005 What a great surprise to hear the Monty on the Run right in the middle of this tune! Hard-rockin stuff. Makes me want to pick up the guitar and jam along. This is fantastic riffin. |

Kikstart II (Kik-It Mix) - arranged by Sonic WandererReview by mahadeva, 18/04/2005 Reminds me on good old Astral Projection brainfucking tunes… wonderful! Will try to play it open air this summer. Go on with it, Sonic. |

Kikstart II (Kik-It Mix) - arranged by Sonic WandererReview by putzi, 17/04/2005 The intro reminds of the mod-style in the Amiga-AGA demo-days, some goa-trance-alike. Very nice to hear this in Sonic-perfection. The compression sounds a bit like it pumps when you listen for the first time, but later this feeling goes away 😉Not sounding like the average dance-tune, thats for sure. Playing it again and again. 😊 |

Alibi (steady-state remix) - arranged by Patrick [Major Minor] CeuppensReview by DJB, 15/04/2005 Man, what can I say, I'm blown away!!Good arrangement, and perfect instruments, and a flawless conversion of the lead. The lead sound is a perfect nostalgic link back to the original SID version, it reminds me so much of it 😊 10/10 from me, thank you so much for doing this tune!! |

Syncopated (by Laxity) - arranged by VernestReview by DJB, 15/04/2005 This tune was one of the first C64 tunes I really loved, however this conversion does disappoint a litle. By all means, it's great that this tune finally got done, bust some of the instruments and leads REALLY need fixing If this is was fully polished up, bad instruments removed, and re-released, it would get a much higher ranking than I give it. |

Bruce Lee (Psycho Mix) - arranged by Bart KlepkaReview by puppet_xeno, 07/04/2005 I am not offended by the lack of technical or artistic creativity, as I agree on the drums emphasizing the strength of the original sidtune and the original Bruce Lee (the Dude!) samples to state the nostalgia of this entirety. Overall this mix pleases me, really! yet as an artist I must say more could have been done with extra synths and better, more dynamic and/or more persuasive drum sounds. |

IK+ (Chemical Stadium Remix) - arranged by DHSReview by puppet_xeno, 06/04/2005 The screaming audience samples make this mix sound so over-the-top it almost becomes ridiculous. But it's a very original approach and it did give me goosebumps at some points, and that's mainly positive. It sounds very lively and because of this it is easily overlooked that the rest of the production isn't VERY innovative and would get a bit boring as it's just a lot of repeating patterns - nevertheless I can really enjoy listening to it. Brings back memories and places them in a different light. |

Caverns of Khafka (Thriller mix) - arranged by dor-xReview by puppet_xeno, 05/04/2005 The acoustic-instrument tracks greatly add to the dreariness of the original tune. Although the percussion sounds are somewhat too dry to my taste, overall this mix summons the same kind of spookyness as the original game. |

Underground (feel the warmth) - arranged by PutziReview by merl, 05/04/2005 First I have to say I "idolize" the original tune very very much!!! You did a good job but I really miss drum parts with more punch and a little bit more instruments and variations. Nevertheless you created a well sounding remix including great FX with quite nice pannings! 😊)) |

Sanxion (Techno Mix) - arranged by KrakuReview by wwwwolf, 03/04/2005 This thing has, quite simply, some Groove(tm).I can't quire say why I like this thing so much, but I think this is pretty much a good example of "mechanical" music, and I don't mean it in bad way. It makes me think mechanical, and I love it. It makes me think of robots and battlemechs and stuff. It makes me feel I should *move* that way too. Weird feeling, I tell you. I didn't even really play the game that much (but still Rob rules, and the original was pretty nice too, I guess), but I still really really got caught in this thing. I wonder, somehow I think Rob is really really cool on SID, then all sorts of people come along and make remixes that are just as good or better. This is one such ocassion: Original was pretty decent, remix just plain rules. In closing, um, this thing rocks. That's all. |

Warhawk (feat. Smai-Lee) - arranged by Romeo KnightReview by XPEh/LKR, 03/04/2005 Superb! So original remix of this legendary track i never heard before! So keep it! In russian - Ofigenno! 😊 |

Mask III - Venom Strikes Back (20Hz Mix) - arranged by ZuckerfreiReview by putzi, 24/03/2005 For some reason the melody sounds like Last Ninja… oh shit, it´s a Ben Daglish composition! 😉I don´t like the snare drums which sound too much "frontal" and artificially crunched, but the bass lines are nicely worked out and the organ is cool. After all, not bad at all. |

Mask III - Venom Strikes Back (20Hz Mix) - arranged by ZuckerfreiReview by leechmonzter, 22/03/2005 The finish could be more motivated (maybe early fadeout here?). Really cool piece. I like the modulation and changes between loud an groovy parts. Worth while Leeching! |

Flip the Flop (Rock My Commodore) - arranged by LagerfeldtReview by baykin, 11/03/2005 I'm stuck in a state of sever confusion. I don’t know what it is about this track, but I absolutely adore it. I’ve played it three times in a row so far. Normally, at this point, I would be twitching from intense boredom. But, for some reason, I can’t get over the urge to hit the play button again.Maybe it’s because it says to the maxx. I duno, but I REALLY like it. |

Samurai Warrior (Usagi Y Mix) - arranged by MajkolReview by prism_emf, 11/03/2005 This is one of the best remixes around. I always liked Brennan's tunes, and this is the perfect homage to the karate tune master. 😊 Great arrangement, although I'm not sure about that koto portamento… |
|
Rubicon (Main Titles) - arranged by Jan MorgensternReview by prism_emf, 10/03/2005 Very good, one of the most pleasing remixes here. The only gripes I have are with the sound design -- the basic chord hits need a lot more life, try for example some keypress-triggered pwm modulation, should fatten up the sound. That way you might get away with the thin (authentic) lead sound you're using now -- in this one the lead gets lost in the mix.Thumbs up for not going wild with the reverb like 90% of the remixers on here! 😊 |

Bubble Bobble (Live!) - arranged by Hampshire Regional High SchoolReview by andy_g, 10/03/2005 This is a really cool cover =) Getting a whole band to cover it, it sounds really cool and well arranged. It actually suits quite nicely for a band style like that too.Nice work indeed, truly a different approach to remixes! |

Alleykat - arranged by Romeo KnightReview by the_jinx, 10/03/2005 I really like the sound of this song!!Anyone else notice the "Windows 98? startup sound" halfway.. |

Vendetta - arranged by Chris HolmReview by toxicgte, 03/03/2005 Thank you Chris. Thank you for not destroying an absolute classic piece from Matt. The original tune was deep and atmospheric, and this tune is done in the style Matt may have wanted to do but couldn't due to c64 limitations. The male monks borrowed from Enigma really sharpen and highten the density to the Nth degree. The tune is on my playlist and in my MP3 player, and there's no higher recommendation than that. Keep it up. |

Groovicide - arranged by analoqReview by liontamer, 02/03/2005 The original version of this remix had a quasi-dramatic red herring-style intro that I thought would have went over well here, but it wasn't my choice not to include it.I'm overly familiar with analoq's style due to his superlative work over at OCReMix. org, so I'm glad he chose to submit this mix to R:K:O. a. p. 's always highly creative and interpretive with his arrangements and this was no exception. Absolutely effective work transforming the original via some funked up interpretation. Conservative mixes are fine, but this displayed way more creativity and risk, and I think it did Ratt's SID work greater homage as a result of showcasing the composition's versality not just through the genre change, but also through the addition of original composition ideas alongside the original melodies. The composition featured excellent flow and dynamics, the samples & instrumentation were excellent (very nice string & percussion work, as well as the bassline and electronic sounds), and the production was absolutely crisp. Not trying to say that it's undisputably perfect, but I certainly can't find anything notably wrong with it. A high quality groove and catchy all-around! Great work per your usual, a. p. |

Heartland (Tranciano remix) - arranged by ChronbergReview by manwe, 27/02/2005 Lovely piano! An excellent rendition! Keeps to the feel of the original whilst giving it a good going over! |
|
Parallax 05 - arranged by danceawayReview by manwe, 27/02/2005 The remix itself is good but there should be a more intense lead instrument and bass. The original had buckets of bass and deep-down oomph. Parallax is my favourite C64 tune, so I might be being more picky than I should be! 😊 |
|
Parallax (Wanderized) - arranged by Sonic WandererReview by manwe, 25/02/2005 Excellent tune - sounds like Glider Rider for a bit near the start! A bit more oomph in the lower regions wouldn't go amiss. |
|
Max Headroom (November Regen) - arranged by ifadeo offlineReview by andy_g, 21/02/2005 Very nicely done. It stays true to the mood of the original and uses some relaxing soft tones. Perhaps its not supposed to be but I perceive it as being easy listening in a trance-like fashion. Good stuff. |

Think Twice III (santa's got a new knob to tweak) - arranged by WobblerReview by bar, 18/02/2005 While i don't really like the Kraftwerk sound too much, and while it's easy to recongnize a standard Reason refill "riff" and drumpattern beneath the tune shape, i really love this remix.Wobber is a great remixer and his tunes always sound catchy and clever, played with crystal clear and "sexy" sounds; anyway this time his music sounds a bit different, probably darker and quite cold, but the result is as usual very unique and, by all means, unforgettable. I must repeat, i really love this remix; every time it happens that i listen to it on Slay Radio it's like a cold blow of wind in my face: if you prefer hot summer days keep away, otherwise try to "feel" this Wobber's work, i think it deserves your attention. |

Spy vs Spy (Metalized) - arranged by RBTReview by andy_g, 11/02/2005 Nice work RBT. The timing of the two guitar riffs in harmony is nice and tight. It gives the piece that orchestral metal vibe. |
|
Lord of the Rings - arranged by Markus SchneiderReview by are_be, 28/01/2005 For me this remix doesn’t break any new territory. In most parts of the track it sounds like a stock standard midi file. I not a big fan of synthesised orchestral instruments, as they sound too plain and artificial. The strings at the beginning also hang a little too long for my liking. A subtle build-up or rumbling bass along side this would of helped. Try and be more daring next time, and experiment with alternative instruments and sounds. |

Supernerd Lightforce Remix - arranged by Jurek RabenReview by M.A.F, 28/01/2005 Lightforce. What a soundtrack that was. One of my favourite Hubbard soundtracks of all time. I loved it and still have dirty thoughts about it now and again.A soundtrack it most definately was. Jurek Raben's version of Lightforce is most definately a remix. For me its a remix in the true sense of what i believe a remix IS. Take the music, break it down to what you want to work with and do your stuff on it, or take parts of the music you think will work in the mix you have planned and add your own structure, composition, style… just what comes out of your own ideas in the process. Lets face it its easy to cover a tune, its much harder to create something new from the bones of your chosen tune that works, even for the remixer himself always doubting his own work(not you Jurek). Lightforce is a soundtrack, there are many elements to the music of this track that cant be singled out in my opinion and mixed elsewhere to create a new different track thats still as powerfull and recognisable. That aside, Jurek has gone his own way with this, technically its very good, artisticly its very good, nostalgicly its good because i love Lightforce, all in all though its still not as wonderfull as the original, but its GOOD as a TRUE REMIX. I like those. Its good. |
