Stormlord (Senecas Marble Pack Edit) - arranged by N-JOYReview by Skitz, 12/07/2004 This is just amazing! I must admit I donot remember the original SID track too much but this remix is just incredible!Only thing is I would love to hear this with English lyrics not being able to understand a word she is singing 😊 Still, this is just superb! Top marks to N-Joy for the production and Simona for amazing vocals! |

IK+ (Nokia mix) - arranged by DJ SubslashReview by rushjet1, 12/07/2004 I thought the beat was cool and the music was ok, and was like "why does this get a bad rating?! " then I heard the phone tune come in. then I realized the "cool music" looped every 5 seconds or something like that - it's really repetitive and grating. The phone music ruins it. |

Indiana Jones (Non Vocal Ethno Revenge) - arranged by Thomas Detert offlineReview by ianni, 11/07/2004 Again, this has no "C64"ish scene value, no melodic/rhythmic connections going on and for some strange reason, this song has alot of Excellents? Me smell a Pumping Up by ghost voters? |

Indiana Jones (Ethno Revenge) - arranged by Thomas Detert offlineReview by ianni, 11/07/2004 I really, REALLY dont like this song at all. I don't even understand why its even here. It has nothing to do with the scene… Someone should remove this… |

KikStart 2 - arranged by IceXuickReview by xonder, 08/07/2004 I kind of like what IceXuick has done with the Kikstart 2 music here. It's a really big improvement over the original, and its upbeat, dance-friendly style suits the tune very well in my opinion. The remix itself is, like the original, very melodical which I consider to be a good thing. It tends to get a bit repetitive at times, but the remix is not that long, so it doesn't matter that much. Overall I consider it be a really solid and well-made piece of dance music which is really pleasing to listen to (for me anyway). I'd recommend this to anyone who like dance-remixes. |

Kung-Fu Master (Surf mix) - arranged by dor-xReview by maindrian, 07/07/2004 I absolutely freakin' love this, no doubt about it. My favourite remix yet this year. You would not believe the smile this bought to my face.I never had this game for the C64, truth be told. As a kid, with a lot of free time in the summer, I'd be in a lot of the sea-front arcades, playing games like Wonderboy, Pacland and… Kung Fu Master, what else? I wasted a crap-load of ten pence pieces on that machine and loved every second of jumpy, kicky, punchy action. The theme tune has been lodged in my head for years. Which brings me on to this remix. After a nice floaty synth opening… Just the very warm feeling that spread over me when I heard that familiar tune, played so well on a nice clean guitar. This is Kung Fu Master all right, but it also puts me in mind of Kill Bill and other Tarantino soundtracks. The playing is masterful. Love the solos, the tremolo work, all good. You occasionally sound like you're sruggling to play the main tune fast enough, but thats no biggie. I certainly couldn't play that riff. It all sounds like spot on exploitaion movie OST. So, to sum up. Thanks dor-x, you've managed to brighten up a shitty month in my life and make me grin like a loon. I love any remix that has guitar sounds like this one. Sort of similar to what I was going for with Times of Lore, only several million times better. Well done and thank you. I think I'll have to go lie down now… |

Ben fatto. (A very good work, well done!) |

Barbarian Orchestral - arranged by Endrõdy GáborReview by Tas, 03/07/2004 At first i thought this is strikingly simular to the remix64 volume 2 version, but upon further listening it seems that apart from only a few sections this is not as simular as first anticipated. I still wonder however if at least some inspirtation may have come from the remix64 volume 2 version. Thats not a complaint at all, but indeed if the case is so then quite a compliment. The tune isn't quite as polished as the volume 2 version with some lack of dynamics here and there and some of the instruments at times tend to be slightly dull sounding. However saying this, it's a really damn good effort and one i enjoyed emensly and of which contains some novel breaks which arn't contained in the original giving the track a rather fresh feeling while also keeping to the ethics of what the original had in mind. Not perfect, but not a million miles away… Love the really loud and brash ending of this one. |

Stormlord (Senecas Marble Pack Edit) - arranged by N-JOYReview by DHS, 02/07/2004 This revolutionary tune by my deadly friend NJoy (a really solid producer) is heavily and heavenly based on the works of Seneca The Old (Seneca il Vecchio), former father of Lucio Anneo Seneca, and, expecially, on his marble pack. After studying all his operas and the rethoric works of Fabiano Papirio, Njoy came up with a lyrics text very hard to be surpassed. According to my (anonymous but very reliable) sources in the Latinorium Academia, the arrangement is a nice variation of the typical NJoy style, mediterranean-melody string, under the sea allusions, complex drumming from a last generation Casiotone synth, and the lead character wonderfully sustained by the nicest, sexiest and bigsized boobies girl i know in the south of italy, the mystical DJ Poah. State of the art mastering tied with an illuministic vision of his underwear, NJoy managed again to give us an unforgettable rendition of a C64 tune (he only misses a bit of danish-producing competence to feel a little less idiot, but he's on the right path). BTW: this is the last r64 remix from njoy ever. The same goes with me and my marbleish pack. |

Deliverance - Gem'X - arranged by Markus SchneiderReview by xonder, 02/07/2004 I must say I was quite disappointed with this orchestral remix of Chris Hülsbeck's Gem'X tune. The choice of remixing Gem'X was good, though, in my opinion, as I consider it to be a nice sid tune, rather well-suited for an orchestral arrangement. What I don't like about it is that Markus has changed a lot of Chris' original harmonies (blasphemy!) and replaced them with his own, which in my opinion don't fit in nearly as well as the ones in the original. Chris Hülsbeck's harmonies should just never, ever, ever be tampered with, as they are always perfect to begin with. 😊 I would have given this one a lot higher overall grade if Markus would have stuck with the original harmonies rather than choosing to use his own. Too bad! 😒 |

Parallax (Highscore Reality Edit) - arranged by D.SpronkReview by wbdeejay, 02/07/2004 I like the way this follows the pattern of the original piece. Great sounds go together in a very 'rocking' good way. Spoiled by some incorrect notes in places. |
|
Sanxion (Oops I remixed it again) - arranged by WobblerReview by wbdeejay, 02/07/2004 I love this mix because it has such a laid-back sound yet still captures the energy of the original. The re-orchestration is a great blend of acoustic & electronic sounds. Wish I could play guitar like Wobbler! |

The Desert Dream (Part One) - arranged by FeekZoidReview by sebekmaj, 01/07/2004 Wow, this remix is very good. I like that music, but this file have to low quality(kbps). Good job FeekZoid! |

Comic Bakery (feat Hanna Kappelin & Morpheus) - arranged by o2Review by sb, 18/06/2004 When I first heard this tune I couldn't stop listening to it, it went on repeat for hours. If you like old synthesizer giants like Kraftwerk, Yazoo and Jarre, you will love this tune. I immediately fell in love with Hanna Kappelins voice, gosh does she have a sexy voice or what? The song is ethno style and fits perfectly with the tune. All mixed with Kraftwerk inspired sounds. It's even better than Kraftwerk because it is not so extreme. The tune is complete with great sounds, great melody, great song, great voice. It's funny, spontaneous, constructive and wierd, you don't get tired off it no matter how much you listen to it. I only wish there were a version of this tune that were loooooonger!!! ( and availible on a better format than mp3, for hi-fidelity nerds like me ( so one can realy enjoy it )). |

Sweet (feat. Elsa & Karin) - arranged by Markus Schneider & MahoneyReview by xonder, 11/06/2004 A really great, sweeping orchestral remix of Johannes Bjerregaard's "Sweet". I especially liked the wonderful refrain with the superb singing by Karin Öjehagen. The sheer beauty of her crystal clear voice and the wonderfully orchestrated harmonies actually made me cry. Divinely beautiful! |

Delta (Spanish Guitar - Final mix) - arranged by Noviello PippoReview by ricq, 11/06/2004 I'm sure he meant well but I really don't like this version. There's too much improvising and it's ruining the original beautiful melody. When the trumpet takes over it gets really bad; it's too loud and there's to much reverb. The drum track sounds ok though. |

Outer Space (Spaceboost Remix) - arranged by Sonic WandererReview by Instant Remedy, 07/06/2004 This remix is real nice, much depending on the fact that it sounds like Laserdance/Koto but with the energy times 2!Sonic Wanderer has evolved from the traditional dance-sound to the spacedance genre with his latest remixes and with great results. He has the the right feel and sound, but with a lot more energy and a more contemporary sound. The percussion is great and not so soft/oldskool as the genre otherwise suggests (and it doesn't sound compressed to death either, good work 😊) Vocoder parts also real cool. Haven't heard the original yet, but I really like this remix. I Wish I get some spare time some day to experiment with the spacedance genre too… |

Comic Bakery (feat Hanna Kappelin & Morpheus) - arranged by o2Review by Instant Remedy, 07/06/2004 This struck me like lighting, I just had to sign up to be able to review and tell everybody how wonderful this tune is! (This is my first review). The vocals fits SO well to the arrangement which is solid and very well done. Everything feels so complete in to every detail. Good thing making the remix a non-dance version too, which O2 don't usually do anyway. It's not so Jarre-ish as I expected at first, maybe because of the vocals. There are of course some classic Jarre/O2 sounds, but I feel the tune takes Jarre closer to O2 rather than taking O2 closer to Jarre which makes for a perfect blend. I don't know if there is any reason for me to say anything about every little detail that is good, noone would bother to read this review to the end… Now there is no doubt that Comic Bakey is my all time fave of SIDs. I've listened to this remix at least 15 times and if I'm not listening to it, I'm humming it silently til my throat hurts. |

Outer Space (Spaceboost Remix) - arranged by Sonic WandererReview by odie, 06/06/2004 Oh yeah! Just returned from holidays to find this remix of my old C64 theme! There are a few bars I wished were also incorporated into this mix, just to give it a little more, but overall, I mentioned to the other Cosine members that I thought it was "Bloody Marvellous"!!!I especially love the lovely female voice, it makes it even more better for me! OK, so someone gonna try and do a conversion of my Turbo-Charge Fastlane theme? Or, do I have to do it myself? |

Druid II Remix - arranged by Red DevilReview by sledge, 05/06/2004 This is my favourite version of Druid II. It starts off with the original SID version that everyone remembers from all the Fairlight intros. The tune is a good mix between flute, pop and SID. It's a hit! |

Zool Elektrorock Remix - arranged by GeckoYamoriReview by infamous, 05/06/2004 zool… amiga's answer to sonic and mario… wasnt too shabby at all either but i do believe an alien ant was a bit of a crap mascot.. but hey thats just my opinion.this starts out sounding like its being played through an old wireless stereo and sounds pretty quirky for it but it works great.. especially when it fades in to full speaker glory and the song leaps into full patrick phelan mode.. fun fun fun fun. I loved this song, more so when it was in the lotus esprit game than in zool i didnt feel it worked well enough within the games atmosphere.. but im taking this remix on its merit not where it came from and for that its getting full thumbs up from me… gecko has seriously moved on and upwards and is rapidly becoming a very formidable remixer and here he is showing off some pretty impressive reverb work and an artistic flair rarely seen outside of the big boys.. they know who they are 😊. So what we have here is a pretty damn fly rejiggle of a very classic amiga tune that is definetly worth downloading.. my only real gripe with the tune is its far far far too short and would have faired better for being a tad longer. apart from that… near as perfect as i think a electronic remix of this tune is gonna get… kudos to gecko 😊. |

Golden Axe Heroes - arranged by ProgZmaxReview by infamous, 05/06/2004 Golden axe.. probably sega's biggest franchise behind sonic the hedgehog back in the early 90's and rightly so, the game oozed atmosphere the gameplay whilst simplistic was extreme and the characters easy to endear towards.Probably the 1st arcade game that i had ever completed "in" an arcade and boy was it an acheivement too and its because of these fond memories that i came to this remix with great and high hopes. To be honest straight away its not what i had expected, but what it is is good. the sounds used within this remix are pretty clear if a little staid and maybe a tad lifeless but they work well enough to get the job done. the familiar melody is well in place and the drum beat mid way through is a welcome inclusion, as is the "welcome" sample lifted from the original arcade cabinet (though i suspect it was in the amiga version too) hence it being here. I love the beginning very low and brooding, and it just launches into the main theme with ghusto and just doesnt stop much like the original.. close your eyes and you can just about see the bald guy with the mace… the tall blokes that look like dan gillgrass with a huge hammer.. all this remix misses is the "ahhh shut up!! " sample that hit off everyime one of them baldies died hehe. so overall this mix is a good re-interpretation of a already damn good tune, nothing really different from the original but that is no bad thing and definetly worth a listen too.. well done mr stevens i salute you. |

Grand Prix Circuit - arranged by Dr FutureReview by putzi, 29/05/2004 I love the original SID very much, and this remix is a clean transfer into techno/dance. Some car-sounds make it clear Dr Future also played the game, even if it not an F1-car sound 😉 Clean is a very good word to describe this remix, very detailed audible synths fx and even an orchestral patch for the right part of the chorus. Artistic impression is not so high since it is quite the SID. Technically very good, except for the bass not loud enough to be perfect. Doc´s best remix so far, technically. 😊 |
|
Giana Sisters (Keep Da Scene Alive) - arranged by DHSReview by eliot, 29/05/2004 It seems that SIDs also fits into Techno-style 😊Technically I would wish for more more length and stereo panorama 😉 Besides this minimal flaws you get a very impressive tune, keeping the spirit of the original SID - neverless I have expected from DHS. Makke's Scooter-style "speech" makes this remix unique compared to any other Giana Sisters remixes. I wouldn't wonder if this remix could make it into the charts 😉 Keep Da Scene Alive! 😃 |

Auf wiedersehen Monty (Oberheim edit) - arranged by Peter MorckReview by brd_trsi, 28/05/2004 Mr. Mörck knows his stuff. Carefully chosen, classic analog synth/electro sounds make this track a winner. Even though this track is over 7 minutes long, it doesn't get boring because there's always something new happening. |
|
Thalamusik (from Sanxion) - arranged by FerraraReview by brd_trsi, 28/05/2004 A good version of Hubbard's best tune. Lacks a little something on the drum department (sounds like there's only one loop playing), decent choices on the synth sounds, especially the "vibrato lead" that start at 2:00 sounds VERY good (= SID-esque)! Definately worth a download. |
|
Thrust - arranged by JBReview by brd_trsi, 28/05/2004 Holy s---! This is seriously impressive, _the best_ C64 remix so far! Jeroen is obviously a very talented professional. Several solos (piano, sax, guitar) and excellent production makes you turn your head, just to see if there's a live band behind you playing that tune.Rating: 10+ and then some! |
|
Sanxion - arranged by XORReview by brd_trsi, 28/05/2004 I really liked this, among the best Sanxion loader remixes I've heard so far. Nice double kicking bassdrum, good choices on the lead sounds and "massive" atmosphere. |

The Desert Dream (Part One) - arranged by FeekZoidReview by dimmignatt, 25/05/2004 Well what have we here 😊The old Desert Dream part 1 by Anders E Hansen (Laxity) So with that said over to the review. When i first saw this song in the number one position i just had to listen to it. At first it's really strange sound that got me thinking what is this?? Then i heard the "it came from the desert" speach i thought it was a cool way to start this song. Then the song starts with the intro and i feel my self at home 😊 Though when the melody starts you used a type of instrument that i for one dont think fits in 😒 but hey there is always someone who likes that to. The drums is almost like the orginal and i think it sucks (i have nothing against that drumbeat) but maybe you should have tried some other beat?? anyway the remix overall is pretty good and to see that someone else like this song is amazing 😊 I for one has always loved this song and remixes like this are always welcome.. Keep up the work. |

Grand Prix Circuit - arranged by Dr FutureReview by ifadeo, 24/05/2004 what a nice smooth 90's minimal-techno remix, it contains a real nice intro, a very nice bridge starting at 2:11 which ends in great break… he used a clever selection of typical techno instruments, and as a contrast some nice 'car in motion' samples. allover it's a bit easy listing techno to my ears, but i don't want to belittle volker's very good work… the remix sounds commercial, very chart compatible… 😉cheers ifadeo |
