ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2023
aka The Year of Glyn R Brown
SLAY Radio kicked off the Remixer Of The Year 2023 show on 24th February 2024, hosted by Ziona, Slaygon and Boz. Adorned with lovely visuals, ROTY results were embedded within the traditional rundown of 2023's monthly highlights.
- The night's first prize, for Best Newcomer, was awarded to Mattias Brian.
- The trophy for Best Veteran went to Glyn R Brown for the 3rd time!
- The Best Amiga Remix of 2023 is Battle Squadron - HiScore (Encore500) by Tomsk.
- Glyn R Brown also won Best c64 Remix with his Mr Danko's Opus
- The newly introduced
Special Achievement
award went to Eivind Sommersten and Tony Wirén aka fluke73 for being prolific remixers in 2023 (with 24 and 23 high quality releases, respectively), and in general for being very active on and supportive of the remix scene. - Finally the BIG award also went to Glyn R Brown, who is now Remixer of the Year 2023!

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2022
The live show blasted off from the ceremonial SLAY Radio HQ on Sunday, 26th February 2023 at 18:00 CET. Hosted by ziona, Slaygon and Boz the show kicked off with the usual recap of each month's news and highlights of 2022.
Half an hour into the show, the first award of the night, Best Newcomer 2022 was announced, won by Oxx. The follow up award Best Veteran went to previous years ROTY, Dr Future!
gibs version of Romeo Knight classic Cream Of The Earth won Best Amiga Remix. Best c64 remix was scored by Fist2 - The Legend Continues (feat. Vaggelis) by XxDUSTYxX.
UPDATE: due to a techical problem, Parallax Mini EP - The Past, Present and Future by Tim Forsyth scored #5 while it should have scored #1 in Best c64 Remix category. We resolved this by having a shared #1. Our apologies for this honest mistake.
Best Lifetime achievement was won well deservedly by Mordi, the remixing scene's powerhouse over the years. Not only super supportive to the scene and community, but also won every ROTY award possible during the years.
Finally, JLD scored the big one, Remixer of The Year 2022!

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2021
The Oscars of the remix community, the 2021 Remixer of the Year (ROTY) Awards will be revealed on SLAY Radio on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 8pm (CET). Will your favorites be among the winners? Tune in to find out!
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2020
ROTY 2020 awards were presented by ziona, Boz and Slaygon on 20th February 2021.The show began with some interesting stats, showing how the year boasted the most releases since 2008! The show itself marked a step-up in visual presentation, having the hosts on split screen and some kick ass rendered graphics during the music. As usual, the ROTY show was framed by a rundown of the year, recapping what remixes were popular in each month. The first award, Best Newcomer, went to Ctrl-Z.
vincenzo was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his countless contributions within the remixing scene and the demoscene, as musician and organiser. An awesome and humble guy!
Last but not least, the big winner of the night was without any doubt Peter Clarke, who managed to score four awards: both Best Amiga Remix and Best c64 Remix for his interpretation of Space Harrier. On top of that, he was awarded Best Veteran, and the big one: Remixer Of The Year.

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2019
The ROTY 2019 show, with Steph and Kevman of SceneSat, was broadcasted on Saturday, 14th March 2020, 20:00 CET, featuring Ziphoid, with the rundown of the year's monthly musical highlights.
This year's voting count saw an overhaul, taking into account various factors that contribute to the overall score. Half an hour in, the winner of the first category was announced, Best Newcomer 2019 was awarded to Lea with a massive lead.
The second award, Best Veteran
went to Glyn R Brown, very closely followed up by Jogeir Liljedahl.
The special Lifetime Achievement Award was handed to Dr Future, for the massive and constant amount of work he put into the scene since its beginning. Amongst other things, he released nearly 100 tracks, he is the most dutiful jury member of RKO and AR, and he even organized BIT Live Germany in 2003.
Best c64 remix was won by veteran c64 musician Peter Clarke for his Elf's story, a remix of Defender of the crown.
He also scored #2 with the same track for Best Amiga Remix, but that category was won by Firefox with his very faithful remake of Cream of the Earth by a small margin.
Finally, Peter Clarke also managed to score the big prize, and was appointed Remixer Of The Year 2019.

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2018
The show kicked off on 17th february 2019 at 18pm, hosted by Ziona, Leoni, Slaygon and Boz. As always, the show featured a run-down of the scene-happenings of 2018, along with what was popular at RKO and AR each month.
The Best Newcomer Award 2018 was given to Vaggelis Papadopoulos who impressed with his metal works. MRT managed to win the most votes as Best Veteran.
SHEN LON was awarded the Best Amiga Remix
for his Turrican 1 Level 5 remix. Commando High Score by FastLoaders managed to score the most popular C64 Remix of 2018.
A very surprised and moved LaLa was given the Lifetime Achievement award for being constantly around since day one of the remixing scene, writing numerous reviews, oragnising projects and for being an ever helpful and decent fellow.
The main award was handed out to SHEN LON, making him Remixer Of The Year 2018!

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2017
This year's show is hosted by Ziphoid and Fnordpojk from SceneSat Radio, broadcast on SceneSat and SLAY Radio. The award announcements were accompanied by a rundown of last year's popular releases of each month.
The first award to be announced was Best Newcomer
, which was won by SIDNIFY, followed up by SHEN LON, Xandra and Jeroen Tel sharing the 2nd place.
Best Veteran
was won by MRT, followed up by Johan Andersson.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was honored to legendary Dr. Rob Hubbard, who thanked the community in a recorded message to the listeners. The topping was a brand new SID tune by Rob, which he did for the Project: Hubbard kickstarter
A special award was presented to Chris Abbott: Continous and Extraordinary Awesomeness Over the Top Award
. He basically started the remixing scene, and kept on investing so much into it, currently working on Project: Hubbard and other projects.
ROTY regular daXX won Best Amiga Remix with Pinball Dreams (Beatbox Ingame Remix)
Best c64 remix joint first place was won by Jeroen Tel with the track Auf Wiedersehen Monty & Commando and SIDNIFY with Supremacy (Overprime mix). Incidentally Supremacy
was originally also composed by Jeroen.
The big award, Remixer of the Year was awarded to MRT, who was also Best Veteran
and represented several tracks in the top 5 Best c64 Remix category. By this he pulls of a hat-trick, being ROTY three times in a row since 2015!
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2016
On sunday, 19th February 2017, the awards show started broadcasting at 20:00 CET from the SLAY Radio headquaters, hosted by Boz, Slaygon and Leonie. The show featured a run down of the last year's events and popular remixes of each months, with award announcements inbetween.
The Best Newcomer 2016 award was announced and went to Armandox.
The second award went to ROTY award regular daXX as Best Veteran 2016.
Best Amiga Remix 2016 was awarded to Rapture for his epic Pinball Prelude Medley.
Best c64 Remix 2016 went to Mordi for his updated version of Why Me.
The special honour of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 was given to Ziphoid for his myriad contributions to the scene, and also to Ben Daglish, who apart from being an original legendary composer of the 80s is still active and around in the scene.
Also SLAY Radio listener Maltus was awarded as Beer-deliverer of the Year
as a personal award of the SLAY staff for his extraorinary support (like, you know, actually delivering beer from Germany to the SLAY hq). 😃
Finally, the big moment approached and it was time to award the main price, Remixer Of The Year 2016 and it went to MRT, second year in a row!
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2015
The show kicked off on Satudary 6th February 2016 at 20:00CET, with a joint broadcast on scenesat.com and slayradio.org, for the first time hosted by Steph and Kevman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As usual, the setting for the show was a rundown of the most successful remixes of each month, in the categories c64. Amiga and Scene Albums, spiced with Scene news of the year.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2014
The awards show kicked off on February, 7th at 8pm at the SLAY Radio headquarters in Gothenburg. It was hosted by Slaygon, Boz and Leoni, who in the tradition of the ROTY awards show, began with a run down of scene happenings and people's favourite remixes of each month.
The first price that was announced went to Robert Engstrand for Best Newcomer, who was interviewed on the show via skype.
Best Amiga Remix was awarded to Scene Veteran Instant Remedy for his "Pinball Dreams - Nightmare" remix.
Mordi was this year's winner for Best Veteran, making him the first person ever to win in all the ROTY categories at least once.
Show host Slaygon won the award for Best C64 Remix 2014 with his remix Platoon (Inexperti belli)

The main award Remixer of the Year 2014 was finally awarded to druu, who was called via Skype to celebrate his victory live on air.
At the show's finale, an audibly affected Boz was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his numerous contributions to the scene since its very beginnings.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2013
The joint broadcast of the ROTY 2013 show launched on time at 20:00 CET on Saturday, 25th of January 2014. The show was hosted by SceneSat radio, and broadcast over the stations, SceneSat, SLAY Radio, Nectarine, BitJam, Radio6581 and The SID Station.
Starting off the show with some excellent music from the monthly charts toppers of 2013, the first award was given away at 20:30 to the best newcomer of the year 2013. The winner of that category was druu, who was quickly dubbed druucomer
by CZ-Tunes at the IRC channel. Ranks 2 and 3 where won by Mario Barbierato and rdmusic.
Accompanied by unexpected technical problems on the server side, which fortunately where sorted out quickly, the winner for Best Veteran was announced - daXX, who had won in the same category in 2012. He was followd up by Mordi and Instant Remedy.
The two lifetime achievement awards 2013 were given to Reyn Ouwehand and Marcel Donné. Both have been active in the scene for ages, working in the demoscene, on the radio stations, on stage, and besides, both are outstanding producers.
There was a shared #1 for best Amiga Remix with 46 points each, Mano's "FlashBack" remix and Daxx's remix of "GODS", with chabee placing 2nd with "Stardust Memories.
Winner of Best c64 Remix was LukHash for his "SPY vs SPY" live remix, very closely followed by druu and his "Wizardry" remix and Peacemaker with "Fawn of Creation".
Finally, the big bounty, the Remixer of The Year 2013 award was also won by daXX with massive 226 points. YouTube wizard LukHash came in second with 116 points. 3rd place went to Rune-Bertil's, who are famous for their swing style remixes.

ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2012
The Remixer of the Year Awards 2012 awards show was aired by the SLAY Radio staff on SLAY Radio and SceneSat Radio, February 23rd 2013.
Mordi, was the big winner of 2012, who won the main price Remixer Of The Year
for the 3rd time, and also scoring the top positions for Best c64 with "Tristesse" and Best Amiga Remix "The Great Bath of the Seven Seas".
The first award of the night went to Xerxes as best newcomer for his remix of RSI Megademo - Ba1..
Daxx and Allister Brimble unbelievably shared the crown for Best Veteran
with 100 points each, with Peter W following at #2 VERY closely with a score of 99 points. This is double tragic since he missed the top position for best c64 remix by one point, too.
Mattias Bergsten (fnordpojk) was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award
for his numerous contributions to the scene and his vital tech knowledge and support to the scene radio stations.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2011
The Remixer Of The Year 2011 results were presented at the ROTY show on 28/01/2012, hosted by SceneSat staff and guests at the crowded SceneSat headquarters.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2010
Mordi wins Remixer Of The Year for the second time in 2010, as well as Best c64 remix. soundsosound convinced the voters for best Newcomer, very very closely followed by Char7ie who also won Best Amiga Remix. DHS deservedly wins Best Veteran. Skitz was awarded the scene's Lifetime Achivement Award.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2009
Mordi won 2009's big price, being the new Remixer Of The Year. Firestorm massively scored #1 in the categories Most Innovative Mix
and Best c64 Mix
with his version of Commando
, which was a surprise release in december. XxDUSTYxX won Best Amiga Mix
, while daXX managed to place a whopping 9 of his remixes in that category. Reyn Ouwehand managed to win Best Veteran
for the third time in a row, followed up by Hazel. The award for Best Newcomer
went to Heartek. In a surprise coup, the Lifetime Achievement Award 2009 was awarded to yours truly, LMan.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2008
Reyn Ouwehand once again was voted Best Veteran in 2008, but this time also winning Remixer Of The Year 2008! Mordi safley managed to score Best Newcomer, Best c64 Remix and also Most Innovative Remix, followed by Amok. Psychnerd won Best Amiga Remix with is Dream Remix.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2007
After barely missing the mark in 2006, Dafunk finally scores Remixer Of The Year in 2007. Peter W was welcomed as Best Newcomer. Scene legend Reyn Ouwehand was awarded Best Veteran, also winning the award for Best 64 Remix and Most Innovative Remix with his live-at-the-church rendition of Green Beret. Best Amiga Remix was won by Daxx with a safe winning margin for his Budbrain Kaosmodules remix.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2006

won Best c64 Remix, he was also awarded Best Newcomer with huge winning margin, and on top of it all he won the big prize Remixer Of The Year 2006 in a head-to-head finish with Dafunk who made a really excellent #2. Makke won Best Veteran. Firefox wins best Amiga Remix with his Sleepwalk
remix. Binster's Ghouls And Ghosts Poltergeist Mix
was awarded Most Innovative Remix. A special category awarded Ziphoid with Best Radio Personality, followed by Boz.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2005
Makke deservedly wins Remixer Of The Year 2005, as well as Best Veteran, Most Innovative and Best c64 remix, wow! Romeo Knight scores equally high for Best c64 Remix with his Speedball. Best Amiga Remix also sees a shared #1, funnily of the same Turrican II Track The Great Bath
with the respective remixes by AmiGamer and Paul Blackford. Chris Abbott wins a Lifetime Achievment award for his undying support for the c64 remixing scene and the SID musicians, and being one of its earliest founders.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2004
Marcel Donné is Remixer Of The Year 2004, followed by DHS. Amiga scene legend Romeo Knight makes a striking debut to the remixing scene by clearly winning Best Newcomer. Glyn R. Brown makes an impression with his emotional Rastan orchestration, winning best c64 Remix. For the first time, we're having a winner for Best Amiga Remix, scored by FeekZoid with his Desert Dream
remix. The C64Mafia's Forbidden Forest wins most Innovative Remix. Visa Röster - C64 Vocally was voted best scene CD.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2003
Markus Schneider is Remixer Of The Year 2003. Cauldron II (I am a Pumpkin Man) by Trauma has been voted Best Remix and also Most Innovative Remix. Lagerfeld wins Best Newcomer. Sidologie by Marcel Donne wins favourite CD, closely followed by Remix64 v2 Into Eternity.
ROTY - Remixer Of The Year 2002
Though Glyn R Brown has been trading places all year with Machinae supremacy with his awesome remix of Firelord and his top 10 hit Gordians Tomb. Mahoney narrowly wins 1st place this year. Mahoney's vocal armageddon man placed him as high as 3rd position in the remix64 charts with a superbly perfromed piece of music. Mahoney is famed for his diverse work and his originality which has brought a new fresh lease of life to the scene.

In 2001, o2 is Remix64's first Remixer Of The Year. Machinae Supremacy's Giana Sisters wins best remix with a huge lead. Chris Abbott's Back In Time Live 3
is people's favourite CD. Monty On The Run Highscore by Perhaps-a-doobie was selected most innovative remix.
